noun: eczema

    a medical condition in which patches of skin become rough and inflamed, with blisters that cause itching and bleeding, sometimes resulting from a reaction to irritation (eczematous dermatitis) but more typically having no obvious external cause.

It doesn't sound to me as though you have eczema, and it doesn't seem like the doctor gave you a good diagnosis. Did he prescribe something for the itch? Have you tried just going to your local pharmacist and seeing what he would suggest? I like pharmacists way better than doctors for everyday ailments. I suppose you've had the itchy rash for a while or you wouldn't have gone to a doctor for it.

If you haven't searched the web for something to relieve the itch, remember not to scratch it with your nails. It will become infected and you'll have a devil of a time getting rid of it. You might try Aveeno colloidal oatmeal bath and some topical itch creams to soothe the itching.

Try to remember if you've changed anything in your daily routine such as your washing powder or your bath soap. That can cause a rash if your body is not used to it. If you are using, wearing or eating anything that's different than usual, it could be the culprit.

And if you're under some really bad stress, that could also contribute. See a different doctor if you can't get the rash to go away on your own. You might need to see a skin specialist.

there doesnt appear to be any kind f rash or bumps unless i put lotion on the area,then i break out in little red bumps and yes always under stress and not sure if it is detergent i have changed my fabric softener recently but have used this kind before and dr gave me a special cream itworks for aqbout 5 minuutes

Yo! Do not put any lotion on your itchy skin, especially if it makes you break out!  Go to your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist about some type of Cortisone cream for itching.

not really as long as i dont get hot or sweaty it doesnt itch ,havent made it to dermatologist yet going to just as soon as this weather gets warmer i have arthritus real bad it hurts to go out in cold dont use lotion any more and no types scented soaps

Doesnt really sound like eczema my two year old and i have it horrible.  it itches like crazy, and burns, the skin typically cracks/ with or without bleeding, and looks flaky and bumpy.  i have it on my hands arms and stomach.  do not use scented lotions if you are going to use anything use either the one specifically for eczema or use aquoporics or under balm, scented lotions will just make it worse due to the perfumes in the lotions. If it is your detergents i would recommend going with the all free and clear or even going to baby detergents.  they are a little more expensive but if it saves your skin.

thank you I didn't think of baby detergents so far the only thing I been able to use is dawn dish detergent tried the free and clear all but my husband was extremely allergic to that

I have had it for a few years now.  I get it on my elbows mostly.  There are ointments you can be prescribed that work quite well.  If you don't treat it in my experience, you end up itching and the spots grow!
