Christmas Candy
« on: December 21, 2014, 03:35:31 pm »
Does anybody have any easy candy recipes for Christmas? I make the same old stuff every year. All the ingredients are so expensive. Nuts are outrageous.

My mum used to make some really great candies when we lived at home. She would make peanut butter and raisins and would cover them in milk chocolate. For me that was the start of the Reese's sensations! She would also make these lovely candies out of coconut although sadly I can't recall the other ingredients. There was another kind made out of marzipan but us kids didn't so much like those although they did look rather festive.

I make chocolate covered caramels. Just 3 simple ingredients - caramels, chocolate & sea salt.

I am tired of candy cane, I like chocolate and rather buy it at store.

Chocolate fudge is definitely my favorite, easy go to recipe.  All you need is a bag of chocolate chips, a can of sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup butter!  Easy peasy!

We do hot cocoa fudge. Melt chocolate chips in double boiler, add couple spoonfuls of hot cocoa mix then add in condensed milk. Stir till mixed. Spread on plate and cool. Cut into pieces.

The hot cocoa fudge sounds really good.  We could not find the orange slice here.
