Do you use gift cards?

I started using gift cards for my niece. I sent her one for her grammar school graduation and will send her one for her birthday. She lives far away and I have no idea what to buy her. Years ago, people were pleased when they got hand lotion or simple pampering gifts that were universal. Nowadays, people are more particular in their purchases and rightfully so. I have my preferences.

I like to receive them! I do not mind store specific ones, as long as it is somewhere I shop. Visa ones are nice, although I have had a few places that can't seem to accept them, which is weird/annoying

I think this depends on where the gift card is to lol i could probably always find something to buy no matter where its to but a lot of options would be nice like amazon, target ect.

Yes, we use gift cards right away as soon as we received it, because there were times we forgot it to use it, years passed by and it was expired. What a waste.

I love getting and using Gift cards .. I usually try to by myself something that I would not normaly spend the money on

I use a lot of gift cards.  I like to take some of my FC money over to Raise (dot com) to purchase gift cards at a discount which gives me even more bang for my buck.  Plus Raise is on the FC Shopping Mall so I get a few cents from my purchase back into my account.

With all the credit card hacking going on at the big box stores - I found shopping using gift cards is becoming a safe practice too.

I usually use amazon giftcards cause I tend to get them from my work. Also I use starbucks cards.

I like getting them and using them. HOwever, as far as buying them for myself, no. You lose money when you buy them. Why not just use your money for what you want and save the cost of buying a card. Great gifts, thoug. Especially when the person is hard to buy for. BMaston12
