I am glad to save money when I fuel up.  I wonder what the long term global political consequences are for the low price of gas?  Gasoline is cheaper right now because OPEC (i.e. Saudi Arabia) is keeping the price of oil down.  Why?  Could OPEC being trying to eliminate some of their competition (e.g. U.S. and Russia) knowing that a low oil price will be less destructive to their economies than to the economies of their competitors?  Enjoy the gas prices while we can but I think we need to keep an eye on the bigger picture as well.

I am so happy to see gas prices fall, it just makes me wonder why are they so cheap now and not before?

$27 dollars full tank on my FRS. I love the lower prices. I use to pay close to $40 in the summer.

Gas prices in Oak Ridge TN down to $2.35/gal; by the time I fill up again I expect to have enough Kroger points to drop my price to $2.15/gal--if they don't drop again before then.
