How About Celebrating the Good?
« on: December 04, 2014, 06:35:24 pm »
I don't know if you read the thread entitled "Life Can Be Tragic."  I started that thread and just read all the entries under it to date.  It made me realize that too often the news media focuses on the bad.  It makes us focus on the bad too.  Sometimes it need to be focused on.  However, it seems to be it is focus on--over and over--too often, and the good and the positive receives no to little attention.

SO...do you think the news media should focus more on positive actions and situations in society?  Do you think the news media, at times, whips up problems into something it shouldn't?  Do you think the news media over glamorizes certain people or issues?

The media is so liberally slanted that it's almost laughable. They tell untruths all the time and definitely focus on dirty laundry and sensational stories. Not to mention how they fan the flames when there is some controversial issue.

It's too bad that that is what sells.  :(

I would love it if they would just tell the truth and possibly focus more on good stories. How refreshing that would be. Fascination for good instead of bad would make for a much happier world.  :D

I believe the news media is controlled by the government and are instructed what to report and what not to report.  Of course, that just means they will focus on the "bad" and never the good cause after all, that's what the government wants us to hear!!!  It's all BS!!!

Yes they definitely do over sensationalize just about everything. They do mix in the good with the bad. However, it's just human nature to want to speak  on and listen to the bad. It's just like when our kids are first learning how to talk: if they hear bad words they  pronounce those words clearer than the regular words.

The news media definitely focuses more on the negative on all situations.  Sometimes they can even dramatize it over and above what it actually is.  Seems like our society thrives on gossip, garbage and *bleep*.
Have a wonderful day!

True. I agree. They must take a different way to expose something "bad" from society. And more talking about the good react of it.

Somehow, people love to read "bad" news instead the good one :(  You know, gossip, skandal... from those people that we dont like :(

I realize we need to know whats going on in the world today but I agree we ever hardly hear of the good things that go on I would like, I mean people are already depressed why make it worse.  Give us some good new to look forward to and share everything not just the bad and tragic things but real life good things.

I like the idea that we would celebrate the positive information that we experience.  When I watch the news, the positive stories jump out at me and lift me emotionally.  This time of year there are beautiful stories about Christmas and the holidays.  The holidays have the potential to bring out the best in people.

On the other hand, we deal with reality, whether we want to or not.  We have a choice, as individuals, how we react to negativity.  My personal choice is to remain neutral as a recognize that different people are attracting different experiences via the universal law of attraction.

Have a great day!

John 3:19 answers well......

Now this is the basis for judgment: that the light has come into the world,+ but men have loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were wicked.

News/media will always be with the money (basically how many views they can generate)... Meaning they will report on depressing sh** like killing, conflicts, deaths, disease, politics, and racism or things people are going to and willing to watch... They might put in a few good news every once in awhile but only for a short coverage
