That is because it' so commercialized.  Most businesses get started in August or earlier with Christmas now.  They really take the good times out of Christmas by playing music before Thanksgiving.  Greed.

A steady diet of any one music can be as tiring as a steady diet of any one thing. It's nice when stations intersperse Christmas music with other music. I'd personally like more of the Christmas music that emphasizes Christianity with a smattering of secular music. It's a nice mix. Fun and thoughtful.

It is Christ's birthday after all. We might want to acknowledge that a little more often. :angel11:

I don't mind it because as someone stated it only comes once a year. It gets me in the mood of Christmas and family coming together, so I get excited. When my siblings and I were younger, we couldn't wait until the day after Thanksgiving, which was when our parents allowed us to play Christmas records. I guess I'm still that kid.

I agree with you but it seems to start before Halloween these days. I think that it is crazy that we start seeing Christmas decorations in retail shops around September. I think that Black Friday is ridiculous and having people work on Thanksgiving to cover Christmas shopping is idiotic. I boycott all of the stores that employ any of these practices. I am actually shifting over to doing my shopping on line because of it. Jewelry stores are still holding the holidays intact so I will shop at those, for my wife, until they start disrespecting Holidays. I really don't get into the Christmas spirit until two things happen: 1.) I hear Bruce Springsteen's rendition of "You better watch out" and 2.) December 1st hits.

I like Christmas music. It's ironic that is some of the best memories I have is singing Christmas songs. I find myself singing Christmas songs as bedtime songs to my kid all year long.
