Christmas is all about the celebration of Jesus Christ who came to same the world from their sins. If he had not been born, he would not have died in our place there his birth is crucial. So the question why do atheists still celebrate Christmas is a really good question. Perhaps the unbelievers are celebrating a giving and receiving presents day??

The obvious reason why many celebrate xmas is because of revelry!!

Many could care less about why Jesus was born into this world and died.Yes there are many honest hearted ones out there that cared for what HE did....but COME ON!!!

REVELRY!!!

That in itself...how do you think that must look to God and his son???

And satan makes sure Jesus is portrayed as a baby.NOT Gods son or his chief angel and first of all creation!!

It isnt hard to discern!!

I view the bible as fiction. It's a made up work because people can't bare to not believe in a capital S Something after death. Heaven is a necessary lie just as Santa and the Tooth Fairy are necessary lies for children. It's because the way our society is, we can't help others without something being in it for us.We can't believe that tooth we lost with all that pain isn't going to reward us somehow. We can't bare to believe that after we're gone, we're actually gone.

Regardless, I celebrate Christmas because Christmas is more of a commercial holiday than anything. The music is okay. The food is good. The decorations are pretty. And again, we're a society that needs something to believe in. We like to celebrate. We like to live instead of just surviving. That's why I celebrate. Life is short, and it's the only one we have. Why not celebrate with every reason to do so?

Well silent the bible does comment on people like yourself.

It says let us eat drink and be merry...for tomorrow we die.

Society has many saying...you only live once.....live your life like its your last day....etc......you have lots of company.

It also says the human being is wonderfully made. And the universe is in such order and magnificent its hard to think it wasnt created.

But mankind has freedom of choice. We arent robots.Another indication of being wonderfully made.

Christmas is a time for giving presents and being with family if you're fortunate. Others feel extreme loneliness during the Christmas season.

A lot of pressure is put upon all of us to do good things and show brotherly love at Christmastime. But it's not too fashionable or politically correct to say Merry  Christmas. Stores and schools encourage us to use the terminology Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays to detract from God and Christ and to dare not to offend others.  :-X

Christmas carols are being pushed by the wayside in place of secular Christmas songs. Santa and Saint Nick can mingle in on both sides. After all, Saint Nicholas was a real person who did good. Children are enamored of the man who brings gifts and parents play along. It's fun to do all that, but we really should consider making sure we keep the real reason front and center.

God knows which of us are his and are the ones who celebrate Jesus coming to Earth to save us from our sins. Lots of people just sort of mishmash everything together and stay too busy and miss the celebration of Christ's birth. Unbelievable amounts of money is spent on toys and other expensive gifts.  :moneymouth:

It would be nice if we all could pick someone less fortunate than we are and make sure their Christmas is merry and bright. Then we would have that wonderful feeling that comes when we help others and become less selfish. What a lovely world that would be.  :peace:

I hereby wish all of Fusion Cash forum posters a wonderful Christmas.  :angel11:   Stay safe and be happy.

It must be a burden to have such a cynical outlook on life.

I actually ignored you a few weeks ago when you said "Happy all saints day"....Jehovah is a God of the living NOT the dead.ASD follows up the satanic ritual of halloween.

All Saints Day is an occasion to honor the Saints. Martyrs who shed they're blood to bring us the Good News.Again, you're holding fast to superstition. I agree,God is a God of the living, which is why I believe the souls of the saints exist in the Kingdom.

JJ i only am doing the research for you because you wanna use Bible to defend Xmas....you are very well mis-informed....

But in considering this matter, the main point is that the Christians did not look to these things for salvation. The apostle explained that certain things, such as the eating of meat or vegetables, the observing of certain days as above others, even the eating of meat that had been offered to idols before being put up for regular sale in the marketplaces, were matters of conscience. He wrote: “One man judges one day as above another; another man judges one day as all others; let each man be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day observes it to Jehovah. Also, he who eats, eats to Jehovah, for he gives thanks to God; and he who does not eat does not eat to Jehovah, and yet gives thanks to God.” Then he summed up his argument by stating the principle: “For the kingdom of God does not mean eating and drinking, but means righteousness and peace and joy with holy spirit,” and he concluded: “Happy is the man that does not put himself on judgment by what he approves. But if he has doubts, he is already condemned if he eats, because he does not eat out of faith. Indeed, everything that is not out of faith is sin.”—Ro 14:5, 6, 17, 22, 23; 1Co 10:25-30.

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say with this.It doesn't really contradict my statement.

If your conscience is bothered by celebrating Christmas, then you need not celebrate Christmas.Others that celebrate Christmas do so to honor the Lord, and thus should not be judged by the JW's as taking part in Satanism. It's really that simple.

Certainly for what its supposed to stand for and what it is....Xmas is really quite a silly day and if i might add quite boring. If it wasnt for the revelry many would have NO use for it.

Try to convince yourself in perspective what Jesus says right before he dismisses Judas instead of deciding for yourself what you should value in the bible.

I think the problem the JW's have is a fear that our traditions are too much a by-product of paganism/Catholicism.
Paganism was only influential as far as the dates chosen for Holy days were chosen to set up rival celebrations to pagan feasts.
While it's true mostly about Catholicism,(for example: Christmas actually translates to "Christ's Mass") the truth is you can celebrate these Holy days without being Catholic and without being a part of the Catholic Church. The Protestant Reformation wisely chose not to toss the baby out with the bathwater and saw the importance of having such holidays remain to be celebrated.

It is all about me, Mom and Dad. It is a big celebration...no matter where and when you were born.

After Jesus death there was NEVER a celebration of 12/25 as his birthday....please read what Paul says 20 years after his death...

3 The step that Jesus Christ took on the night of Nisan 14, 33 C.E., was much more than a passing incident in his life. The apostle Paul discussed it when writing to anointed Christians in Corinth, where the pattern was still being followed over 20 years later. Although Paul was not with Jesus and the 11 apostles in 33 C.E., he surely learned from some of the apostles what happened on that occasion. Furthermore, Paul evidently got confirmation of aspects of that event by inspired revelation. Said Paul: “I received from the Lord that which I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was going to be handed over took a loaf and, after giving thanks, he broke it and said: ‘This means my body which is in your behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.’ He did likewise respecting the cup also, after he had the evening meal, saying: ‘This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood. Keep doing this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’”—1 Corinthians 11:23-25.

The point here the significance of Jesus death always being memorialized....NOT his birth.

Again to thank God in prayer for sending Jesus to earth....it is good

His death NOT a pagan 12/25 celebration of the sun that began in Babylon

Wake up!!
