Religion
« on: November 15, 2014, 11:01:42 am »
How does it make sense to religious people that are racist or homophobic to judge if Matthew 7 ("Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.") is a part of their religion?

I just can't understand that.

I can't say that other people would call me a religious person.  I believe in God, but I don't believe in churches.  What I do know is that we're all "human" and humans tend to judge each other, even against other religions.  If you think about what you're asking in your post, aren't you, in a way, judging "religious" people for how they feel about homosexuality?

Jesus proved beyond a doubt HE was Gods son.Yet his enemies still killed him and treated HIM like a criminal.

My point here is even if you convince many what truth is,they still will NOT give a dam!!They want to decide what is good and bad for themselves with no accountability to God etc.

If you support the bible dont try to re-write it.But sadly in this world Christendom does just that. But still many dont care.

Another example is even if you show them Xmas is a crock they have been conditioned to not know any better. And even if they knew it was a crock they have still been conditioned to still love the darkness!

So in the end Jehovah sees the heart condition of us all....and HE will judge us accordingly.

I'm not judging them. As I said, I just can't understand that. You can ask a question about something you don't understand without judging that something. What I don't understand is how someone can claim to believe in something, but not believe in all of it. It's a concept that I just don't understand, and I would, therefore, like to know. I am not judging anyone for it. I'm just curious. If "God" loves everyone and these people love "God" and want what he wants, how do they not love everyone as well?

Silent..again it comes down to the majority of this satanic world wanting to decide for itself what is good and what is bad.

Same sex marriage is legal in many places now.The creator of the bible says it is a sin and unnatural. Many dont care what HE thinks. This is a big reason why this world is soo screwed up.God has allowed satan and his followers to build their own religeous and political system to show in the long haul........

IT DOESNT WORK!!!

I've never been able to understand it, either.
Jesus said the whole of the law is summed up in Love God, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Love doesn't leave much room for negative things like racism or homophobia.

There is a better way.

I think you have two separate questions there.Let me try to deal with them one at a time.

You talk about racism first of all.Jesus told us the 2nd most important Commandment,(2nd only to Loving God with all our heart, mind & strength) is to love your neighbor as yourself. God makes no distinction between races. He created all Mankind and Jesus died for all Mankind and so he loves all equally. I do not believe you can truly be Born Again in God's sight if you hate another person made in God's Image, for no reason other than the fact that they look different than you.

Now all that applies to Homosexuals as well.God loves all (since we are all sinners) and Jesus died for the sins of all. Now,I'm guessing your overall statement has to do with Believers denouncing homosexuality as a sin.But the Bible,in fact calls it a sinful practice. We ought not sugar coat the facts that, yes God has forbidden it.And when we point out that it's a sinful practice in the sight of God,that does not mean we are making a judgement.Only giving a warning on what the Bible clearly teaches.

But again, homosexual people should be treated with the same respect as every other of our neighbors that Christ died for. "Love the sinner, hate the sin".

There are kids that get completely disowned by their families for these things. That's more of what I was trying to figure out. How can someone be so against something that they would disown their own child over it when the Bible says to love everyone? I can't wrap my mind around it. Then again, I also can't wrap my mind around people worshiping everything written in a book that could have been written as fiction for all we know.

JJ...i have been thru this with youand really dont wanna waste a lot of time.

ABSOLUTELY no mention of 12/25 as birth of Jesus in bible.Whereas Nisan 14 is clear date of Jesus death.

Even encyclopedia shows 12/25 pagan holiday that started in Babylon.

12/25 is cold rainy season in Bethlehem.Shepards wouldnt be out with their flocks as indicated during Jesus birth.

For the most part you guys cant even call God by HIS name. How impersonable!!And you claim to love him??LOL!!Please spare me the ignorance!!Even Jesus used and said HIS name was important to mention as TRUE GOD!

KJV Psalms 83:18 a friendly reminder

Again i make mention with earlier posts that many dont care what the CREATOR thinks even if it is plain as the nose on their face.Wanting to decide for themselves what is good and bad...right or wrong.

In the case of Xmas Jehovah in the bible explains HE is a very jealous God and doesnt wanna share HIS glory with false gods.Satan has been called the god of this system of things. That is indicated when he offered Jesus all the kingdoms of this world if Jesus did an act of worship to him.

The world is in the same state it was in Noahs day.No one listened to Noah. They were all swept away until it was too late.Jesus said it will also be the same today in the "last days"as we are living in them.

Jesus said there would also be form of godly devotion but prove false to its power. That certainly is the cause of much of the religeous BS that goes on today.

This might help some of u realize if u support bible!!

Yes, the Bible teaches that Satan the Devil is, indeed, a real person. Critics of the Bible, however, scoff at such a portrayal of the Devil. Satan, they say, merely represents the principle of evil that resides in humans.
Should we be surprised by the confusion regarding Satan’s true identity? Not at all. To illustrate: A criminal might wipe his fingerprints from a crime scene so that he may conceal his identity and thus continue his illegal activity undetected. Similarly, Satan is a criminal mastermind who is content to operate behind the scenes, promoting moral corruption. Jesus clearly identified Satan as the one responsible for the evil state of human affairs. Jesus called Satan “the ruler of this world.”—John 12:31.

Part of it is that that verse doesn't instruct people not to judge, but rather not to judge if you are not willing to be judged yourself in the same way. In other words, take a look at your life and try to better yourself first before you start arbitrarily judging others. Christians can certainly judge a person based on their actions and decide whether having a relationship (of any kind, not just romantic) with this person would be good in their own lives.

Also many Christian denominations view homosexuality as a personal choice instead of an innate aspect of the person. Thus some of the things that a Christian will do is not to punish the individual as much as it is to try to help them. So disowning a homosexual child may be a parent's tough love way to try to help their child make a choice that is in line with their faith.

Finally, we all are sinners. So even though we may be told to do something (or not to do something) based on our faith, we still may falter and go against what God wants. So even though a person may know that racism goes against what God teaches, we may feel like we've been slighted somehow by a person of a different race, and instead of criticizing what that individual did, we project it on their entire race. May as well ask "How does it make sense to religious people that are dishonest to lie even though the Bible clearly states that lying is a sin?"
