There's the traditional food like ham, turkey, gravy and dressing, macaroni and cheese. Also, sweet potato pie, apple cobbler, and some kind of cake. Then there's non-traditional things and it usually varies from year to year. One time my brother-in-law made beer can chicken which was so good. Then there's my mom's meatloaf. I plan on making something out-the-box this year.

Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing. My mom will make pumpkin pie but she's the only one here who likes it. My parents make yams too but I've never liked those either.

What used to be an unbelievably great meal is now miserable for me.  My health has forced me to change my diet.  I would appreciate all the veggies on thanksgiving but they are all in a casserole with a ton of cheese all over them.  Booo

We start out with a big platter of veggies and dip as an appretizer, and then have a fresh Kosher turkey, stuffing, baked potatoes smothered in butter and sour creme, fresh broccoli or cauliflower, garden salad and apple and pumpkin pie with ice cream along with coffee for dessert.

Turkey, sweet potatos and pecan pie. Of course there is the green bean casserole, chocolate delight, pumpkin pie, and other assorted treats. Most of all it is to be thankful for what God has given us. Most of us spend too much time thinking about what we don't have. Give thanks for being an American. It is stil the greatest country in the world!

I generally have a turkey sandwich but last year I cooked a turkey and stuffing.  This year I'm going to my son and new daughter-in-law's and I have no idea what she plans on having other than stuffing which probably means she's having turkey.  I'm taking sweet potatoes.
