I really like them because if I don't get my shopping done early I will be a crazy person by Christmas, it really sneaks up on you.

It's ridiculous that Christmas stuff can be out in September now.  And that Black Friday starts Thanksgiving night at 6 pm.

It doesn't bother me at all. It's not like they are holding a gun to our heads and we can't just ignore it.

Hmm Gun reference. Not a good ideology. Anyways the stores have these early shopping for reasons of people buying items that are past models or old items they want to rid themselves of. You may think your getting a deal but really look at what your buying and also get insurance on those items cause if commonsense hits me like always I always go for get the insurance. Namely because they are old products and may be items that were on the show floor.

I am not into all of the commercial stuff. I believe it is put out too soon. But I also know it is the biggest time of the year for gifts. I worked in retail for a long time and we did inventory the last part of September, then I would take 2 days off and then start putting up the decorations and getting ready. By the time it was Christmas I was burned out. I would come home to see the family and it seemed all I did was sleep until I had to leave to come home and go back to work.  Since the death of my son I do not get into all of the buying But I do enjoy my church.

I can't say anything about people shopping early for the holidays.  People have to buy when they can.  The stores are having huge sales earlier because most of them are hurting for the sales and people are stupid.  If they have a huge sale people will buy stuff even on a credit card to get it cheaper and then pay interest  out the wazoo and not even get that they did not save any money.

You also have to remember the long lines are also due to the stores don't want to pay any more cashiers.  Most places only have a couple of registers open.  So the employee is over worked and the customers are hateful and fussing at the cashier (who has NO control over how many registers are open) which makes the line slower.  Then you have the stupid customer who stands there with their head in their buttt while the cashier is ringing them up and then when they hear the total they start looking for their cash, credit card, coupons, or whatever.  I saw a stupid woman the other day after they told her the total actually stood at the register and said "I am going to look for coupons on my phone". I wanted to hit her!

I don't think November is too early to display Christmas things in the store. They usually don't put things out any earlier, since Halloween has become such a commercial holiday in recent years. :pumpkin:

I thought it was a bit ridiculous. Here they had stuff up before Halloween. I like Christmas, like looking at the Christmas decorations and other things. What I don't like is that Thanksgiving seems to get pushed to the side. It gets dominated by Black Friday sales and Christmas. I don't think it's too much to at least remember it's a day to be thankful for the people and other things in your life. Last year was my first year celebrating with extended family and it was really nice. Nice thing to be thankful for.

Some stores seem so frantic to get their Christmas decorations out. Walmart out  where I live had decorations for Halloween 90% off. Got costumes for next year for $1
