I don't use them myself, but the people that I know who have them seem to like them a lot.

I have used the Pur system that fits on the water faucet but had to take it off when I got my new portable dishwater.  It was too much of a hassle to take it off and put it back on every time I washed dishes.  I now use a Brita pitcher that filters water.  I can tell a big difference in the taste of the water using the filter plus no floaters!  We have terrible quality drinking water where I live.  About every three months we get a notice from the water department that the water quality failed the state tests 2-3 months prior to the letter....
Have a wonderful day!

I would love to have another big water filter here, but  I have no place to really put it. Our water isn't too bad here, but I hate the taste of city water, unless it is ice cold. I really don't care for bottle water as it has a funny taste also. Some time I wish we could move back to the southern part of the state. Our well water was tested out at 99.7% pure. I really miss it. So good.

Wish I could help you out but am trying to do the same thing.  We were spending a fortune on bottled water for 3 adults & just started back drinking our well water - not sure what to do filter wise so will follow this posting to see if I can get some advice also.

I don't really like or trust any water filters that I have tried, so I mainly just stick to buying and drinking bottled water

I won't drink water without putting it through my Brita pitcher.  It makes it taste so much better.

I use to buy the PUR brand for my sink. It's not that costly and it work great!

My husband and I stopped at a restaurant for a quick bite after our job today.  Our beverage of choice is mostly water with lemon.  This particular place either did not have a good filtration system or they were in desperate need of changing the filter.

Yes, I absolutely believe in a filter system.  We have one on our refrigerator and I am very spoiled on it.

Your filter of choice may be different than what others prefer but I think it's well worth investigating.

I'm also really interested to see everyone's responses to this. I have long thought I would like to get a water filtration system in our house because the water sometimes tastes bleachy and chemically. I drink a lot of tap water. In fact, after my kettle boils, I empty the left over boiled water into a container to cool, and then put the lid on and drink it at a later stage. It is cheaper than bottled water but as I say, sometimes it doesn't taste as good as bottled water.

Yeah, but like anything else some work better than others.  Plus 'working' in this regard means something different to all of us.  What do you want it to do?

I use ProPur.  It filters fluoride too and I think it's excellent. There are two canisters. You get a spigot and a stand. It isn't the type you hook up to the faucet. I got the small one so it isn't too heavy to transfer. The pitcher option just recently came out.
