Everything's about money nowadays, all the companies are getting too big for their britches, and all their care about is ripping the little guys off to get more and more profits. They already have more money than they'd ever be able to use!

That's why I watch free antenna tv instead of pay tv.

I gave up on sports a few years ago. I got tired of those butt-kissing announcers.

That's why I got a Raspberry Pi and configured it as a media streamer - lot of free sports to watch with the apps people built - including watching live games in other countries.  Unfortunately I burned out my one memory chip, and just got the replacement, so not I have to reconfigure it... But I'm not a huge sports fan so I'm not really missing anything.  Just did the research for friends who are considering cutting the cord - so I played around to see what I could access with the apps.

If you want to make some REAL money, create a training course someone else could actually follow to duplicate what you did and I will help you market it.

I've thought about it, but have too many irons in the fire at the moment.  I've been following a site: My Media Experience (com) which provides a lot of configuration information on the Raspberry Pi, both hardware build and software installs; along with other HTPC builds/configurations.  At present, I'd be happier to send people to this guy's site to support his work.

Also, the work of Pi keeps changing as it's open source, so it's hard to keep up with all the new goodies.  Best resource would be RaspberryPi.org - that's the official site and it's a wealth of information on different projects people have developed that one can use the R-Pi for (media streamer is just one method...I've found ways on how to turn one into your own web server so you never have to pay for web hosting, among other things).  Love the creativity on that site (forums and resources).

For media streamer configurations, I'd recommend XBMC (which I just learned is rebranding itself to Kodi as of version 14).  The can be found at xbmc.org and provides a wealth of information regarding how to install the various media center installations on the R-Pi and all the special bells/whistles that can be downloaded/configured.

If I ever get the time to create a simple PDF eBook to streamline this, I'll be sure to let you know Old Buddy!  Until then, maybe you'll find the information at the above resources sufficient and not too complex to get your sports back.  :)

I, too, have boycotted sports for the most part.  Not only because of the endless greed but also the attitudes of athletes in general.  Every time I turn around someone else is busted for drugs, driving under the influence, domestic violence and so on.

If athletes are not guilty of any of these types of things, they sure do seem to make some pretty lame excuses for the ones who are.

I have no need to waste my precious time patronizing criminals and those who choose to associate closely with them.

I don't care if the game is on free cable, I would get so much more satisfaction watching my grass grow.

I guess you better not watch any TV or go to the store, or even leave your house.   Your neighbors and family have some of the same  issues, but because of who they are no one cares.   Because you are famous they make a big deal out of it and continue to whether there is anything new to report or not.  You barely hear the news if they are found not guilty, that is not news for some reason.  Studies have shown that there is no higher percentage of criminal  activities in sports than for the same number of people who are not athletes.  Just who cares if Joe Smith  from some little town is in trouble, it does not sell papers or get viewers.
