I was reading the Wall Street Journal.
There was an article about Netflix.
Do you think that the movie theaters will become a thing of the past?

If they do there will have to be some sort of substitute offering available.  Home theater is great, but sometimes people just want to be OUT.

I think they will change with technology, I'm hoping they don't completely go away! Of course there's still a few drive in movie theater's around the United State's, we just have to look for them!

There's way too much money to be made from theaters so, I don't think they'll be going anywhere anytime soon.  I DO wish, though, that there was more creativity in Hollywood as far as movies are concerned.  I'm getting tired of seeing remakes, and some of these sequels really kill the joy I got from seeing the original movie.  How many sequels can one movie possibly have before they ruin it for everybody?  What happened to all the creative writers out there?  I find a lot of these movies have no originality whatsoever.

I'd hate for theater's to go away. For some movies you just need to see them on a big screen and surround sound. I also agree I'm getting real sick of the remakes and some of the sequels.

There's nothing like the big screen experience.  They're updating theaters to digital to make it even better.  They just built a new IMAX in Albuquerque.  That's consistent with what they taught us in film tech training.

I always enjoy going to the movies so I hope they don't it always gives ppl a way to just get out once in a while

Everyone seems to think that the getting out and away from everything is something we do not want to lose. So I second that emotion.

Big screens and popcorn are a blast from the past that I hope never fades away.  That goes for drive-in theaters too.

Nothing beats a night out at the movies!  The whole experience of it is worth more than the price of the movie ticket itself!

I have no reason to go to a movie theater anymore. All of those movies will be released on DVD, or they will air on television.

I don't think movie theaters will die out ever.   People need a place to go to get out of the house.  Especially those with kids, and the youths of today need a place to go for something to do that is safe.   Unfortunately, the prices of the movies are becoming outrageous.  They make plenty of money so there really is no reason to charge so much money to view a film.
