Toddler Beds

When did you move your kids from a crib into a toddler bed?  My daughter is 21 months and we just moved her, she was more than ready and slept the whole night through.  My son however, loved his crib and I actually didn't put him a bed until he was about 2 years, 4 months.

My son never slept in a crib. I used his crib to store his stuffed animals and his toys lol. He slept with me at night till he was about 1 then he got a toddler sponge bob bed and used that till he was about 5 and I then bought him a twin size bed. When we move this coming Feb, I will be buying him a full size bed because he has gotten taller and with the twin size his feet hang off. He is 10 now.

i wish that my son would have slept in his crib.  he has slept with us co sleeping since the day he was born i still breast feed him at 23 moths old and he is slowly starting to ween himself but it makes it easier for mom to just co sleep.  we are currently in the process of trying to get him to sleep in his toddler bed but so far its just a pipe dream.  we are planning on expanding our family soon so i need to get him in his own bed real soon.

When they can climb out of the crib, is when they need to have a toddler bed with guard rails.
