How long to wait for 3rd base

My friend and I were having a debate about this. How long should a couple wait before they decide to have sex? I say at least four months. She says two. What's a reasonable amount of time?

I don't think it's a certain time frame per se, than it is a commitment thing. When they're sure that they want to be committed to each other and they're serious, then that's the right time. When I say serious, I mean that they want to the relationship to turn into something meaningful, not just a one night stand.

Well third base is not sex yet. lol But I think it all depends on how ready they are, mentally and emotionally.

Agreed, it differs from couple to couple, but it's always best to wait on that stuff. Your best bet is to form a connection and bond emotionally before any of that stuff.

It's up to each person.  If you're ready and being safe, go for it.  Of course you have to be age appropriate too!

i was always adamant that i would wait until i was married to have sex.  however when i met my husband in order to not lose him as he was unwilling to wait for three years until we married we ended up having sex around the 6 months together mark.  we had however been living together when we were dating for only 4 weeks.    i think it all depends on your own feelings whats good for one person will not necessarily be good for the next.
