Sounds like those paper towel commercials are right with the mess made, eh?  I always thought those would be exaggerated...sounds like maybe they may be spot on.  :)

It can be one of the best ways to spend time with your kids! I love to teach my kids how to cook also.

You better enjoy the time she spend in the kitchen while she thinks it is fun......

I wish my mom would've taught me how to cook. Instead she just yells every time we cook something wrong. Oh well! lol

Good luck with that!  My girls never showed any interest in learning to cook.  Lucky for them they married men who love to cook.  lol

Hahaha! That sounds like part of a commercial!

With practice, she will be just as good as you! and less messy.

Cooking is an art that's for sure. That's great you're taking the time to show your daughter. She may not be perfect (she probably is in her eye's!), but just keep encouraging her even though you see the big mess she's making. She'll get it eventually. :D

One day when she has her own family and you visit her you will be so proud of her when she bakes that dish. God bless you both.  :highfive:

I would start with something easy like hot dogs.  I worked with a girl a while back and she was in her 20's and trying to learn to cook.  She was telling about making mashed potatoes.  She cut up real potatoes and the second they started boiling pulled them off the stove and started trying to mix them.  And was telling how her mom said that it is okay because she is learning.  I am thinking in my head "how can you be that dumb".  I don't get how you can watch someone cook for years and not know you have to actually boil potatoes more than 3 nano seconds. lol
