Would you rather grocery shop yourself or get someone to shop for you?   ???

I prefer to shop myself. That way I get the brand and size I want or need.

It depends if a person volunteered or wanted a tip....in which case I probably prefer to do it myself

I shop for my self.  The only way I would want someone else to do it is if I were unable.  My grandmother has to have someone get her groceries because she is not able to do it herself.  My cousin does it and even though Mammaw makes a list of exactly what she wants via brand or size my cousin gets the generic and the size she thinks Mammaw needs.  Makes me really mad.  Some generic stuff is good but some is just not.  Some stuff I would rather do without than to have to eat the generic.

SO, if you want what you want then you need to do it yourself.  I realize some people don't have a choice.

@ktheodos - Most people want paid or want a tip these days.  Sad huh.

I really enjoy grocery shopping. I like the whole experience of comparing ingredients, weights, brands and getting the best I can for the money. My treat might not be a donut, it might be to try out a new product that could be perfect for me. I'm swayed by coupons when trying out new products but this will only work if the product is truely good and if I do really need the product. If I don't like it, I just won't buy it again. Simple.

I do not want someone else to do my grocery shopping.  They would never get what I want.

Depends on what I'm getting.  If it's standard stuff and I can tell them the exact brand and such to get, then I don't mind asking others to get it.  However, if I'm asking people to get fruits or veggies, then I'd rather get the stuff since sometimes people don't check before purchasing.  I had one day where someone bought strawberries that had some moldy ones in them.  That certainly wasn't fun finding out.

I'm the only one living in the household so shopping alone is no problem for me.

I prefer to do it myself, but have had to rely on someone else to get the groceries when I was down with a couple of my surgeries, but I have someone who gets exactly what I write down.

I prefer to do my own shopping most of the time.  I have an extremely tight budget and since I'm the cook for the family I know what I need name brand vs. what I can pull off store brand.  It's a skill learned through experience.  For instance.  Last Sunday I asked my son to head down to our local general store and pick up kraft cheese singles so I could make his little sister a grilled cheese sandwich.  I usually stock up on cheese from aldi... so when he walked in with the 24 count of cheese package with a $6.59 orange price sticker on it I went through the roof.  Really - she would have been just as satisfied with a peanut peanut butter and jelly sandwich that of which we already had ingredients for.

I have to do all my grocery shopping myself. I can barely tolerate knowing how many people may have touched the food I cook in the process of getting it to market. I 'll get my own groceries. :)

I like to do my own grocery shopping but sometimes I can't so I have my sister do it.  She sometimes buys stuff I would buy because its to exspensive and I do the big grocery shopping and she takes me.  It really wares me out though I am in bed from pain for at least a day or two, but if I don't go we end up not having enough food for the month.

I would rather do it myself.  How many times do you go to the store and see something that you need that you forgot to put on the list?  And I find it very useful to be able to compare products before purchasing.
