TEENAGE GIRLS HAVIN BABY AT 16

Of course it is dumb to have a baby at 16 but today it seem its not wrong to have a baby. More girls are having baby at this age. I have a younger cousin who had her first baby when she was 15...now she has three kids at the age of 20.  In high school, I remember there were at least ten girls that had a baby!

It's become a part of American culture, which is saddening to say the least.
At 16 years of age, one isn't even near ready to start the childbearing process (in my opinion), let alone ready to start having a family and raising the child itself.
I mean, honestly, if you're going to have sex, at least use some form of protection.

I believe at the age of 16 it's going to be d
struggle to have a baby. I hope that the pregnant teen is supported by her and his family with the baby. While this may not solve all the worries, it will help to relieve some of the troubles. It's not impossible to be a good parent at this age but it will be hard. Most of the peers are out exploring life and the baby will need the attention 1000% of the time. Most of these teens will struggle and push their baby to the grandparents. Money problems is the greatest challlenge to overcome. I hope that the pregnant teen has the adequate support financially and emotionally... Best of luck to the new mom.

Well most of them have a kid at that age because they want to have something to love. I won't say it's wrong because they probably have went through a lot of troubles growing up.

Things happen these days that didnt back when our parents and granparents were young...

Are you so sure?  People have been having babies out of wedlock for centuries  Human nature hasn't changed that much.  My grandmother was 15 when she got married.  My mother had my brother out of wedlock at 19.  She wasn't 16 but she was still young and yes she struggled but she was able to go to school and get a masters.  I don't even have masters degree and I've never had kids. 

Yeah I think it's dumb given all the protection out there to use and other things to do besides have sex.  Growing up in the 80's I had classmates in high school that got pregnant.  Not sure how their lives are now but for some of them I'm sure it affected their lives greatly, for some others they may have went on to lead successful lives.  It's what you make of it.  You can let circumstances defeat you or you choose to rise above it.

Depends where you are in the world, what time period you're talking about, your social status, and your maturity and intelligence level at that age. Reading the previous posters I can say that it's not wrong as long as they can properly care for the kid. They've just got to accept that they aren't the art peice of their life anymore-- they are the framework for another.

Or if you want the redneck way of it-- "old enough to bleed, old enough to breed!"

If you hiss at these teens that are put into that situation, you're a very naive, retarded, and hateful person. You obviously aren't mature at all, so you cannot take the moral highground simply because it didn't happen to you. I've known 2 and it's tough enough on them that it happened.

I was 18 when I had my first and that was to young for me! I wont say it ruined my life but things could be alot better if i would have waited
