well i only know of 2 arthritis ostentatious & Rheumatoid infact i looked fibromyalgia up and its a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues. So i wouldn't know if it would count as a disability but its worth a try to talk to a SSI & SS & Disability representative before filing out for them. (i have ostentatious arthritis in my leg and they said i can go for it but they always deny the 1st but if they deny it a second time (after a year of course) talk to a lawer. im not on it yet till i move out in my situation)

I'm so sorry to hear that you're in pain.  If I find somebody who has fibromyalgia I'll let you know.

i have not however i am considering going on disability for my ra which has become a lot worse since the birth of my son 21 months ago.  I have been a stay at home mom for almost three years now and dont see how i would be physically able to ever return to regular work as my body just throbs and aches all day sometimes to the point of curling into a ball in tears due to the pain.

You might get on it depending how long you've had it. I have fibro, and a lot of medical files with other things wrong. It took 4 almost 5 years disability. they always deny the 2 times. I'd go for it, I think you'll get it.

I have been trying to get on Disability for almost 12 years I totally quit working in 2007 I have Fibromyalgia, Chronic pain, Major Depression, Anxiety, personality disorder, Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis, COPD, and Emphazemia, as well as migraines, High blood pressure, Restless leg syndrome, osteoarthritis in 75% of my body and some other mild things and I still can't get disability.  The chronic pain is the worse no matter what they give me I am in pain every day it is milder in warmer months and worse in colder months.  The Judge says I am disabled but there is a job out there for me with certain restrictions like being able to lay down after working an hour and some other stupid stuff I could not get anyone to hire me with those restrictions.

How long has your friend been on disability? Is the pain more manageable now that your friend is not doing
Any time of repetitive motion work?
