Is it true that dogs and cats can not get along well enough to be raise together?

That's not true, many people have both and they get along just fine

Absolutely not true.  I've had dogs and cats (3 dogs, 8 cats) living together in peace.  The dogs will catch on rather quickly when a cat might not "like" them, and they'll avoid any situation that may cause a problem, LOL.

No.  Lots of people have both and they are friends.  My Mammaw had a big ole dog and a cat and the cat actually slept on top of the dog.  I kid you not.  I looked out one day and they are on the back porch and the dog is laying on his side sleeping and the cat is laying on top of the dog's other side snoozing away.  :D

Yep.  The cat smacks that nose a couple of times and he will get the picture. lol

Mine sure don't.  My cats think they're better than everyone else though.  SO entitled!

I have not had a cat in years but when I was a child we had dogs and cats. They tolerated each other..well sort of. .The cat would hiss at my dog every now and then but nothing more then that. And that was seldom.

A lot of people have cats and dogs. I think they can definitely get along. Not with my dogs though. My dad has teased them about cats and now they go nuts whenever they see one.

Not really. I've seen cats and dogs gotten along very well especially when they were raised together as puppies and kittens and had no problems with each other.

That's not true of most dogs and cats especially if they are raised together. We've always had cats and dogs and they get along just fine. I did try to adopt an adult dog once and it definitely hated cats so we had to return her and adopt another.

You'd be surprised to find that dogs and cats who've been raise together get along far better than us humans.

It all depends on the situation.  There are many dogs and cats that get along.  But I have an eight year old cat that doesn't like any cats or dogs.  He wants all the attention to himself.   I have had stray cats come to my house and my cat will not tolerate them so I have had to take the stray cats to our local animal shelter.  My cat is the BOSS!!! :cat:

My daughter insisted on bringing a puppy and a kitten home from the pound at the same time when she was a little girl.  My ex-son in law accidentially let the cat out a few years ago and we never could find him again but we still have the dog;  its been 14 years (this month) since the dog came into our home and he is a big part of our family!  He and the cat got along really well all these years and the cat we have now loves our dog and she has become part of our family too.
