I get a watermelon, throw away the meat and make pickles out of the rind. It is an old fashioned pickle recipe. but most of my family loves it. I cannot eat much of the meat as it will make my throat swell up and itch like heck.

It was just the other day that I bought a whole watermelon, brought it home and cut it into cubes (so it is easier and less messy to serve). It was the most delicious treat I've enjoyed in a while.

I love watermelon -  it is so sweet, cold and refreshing.  It has been on sale at my local grocery so I keep buying some slices or sometimes a wedge - its only me so I know sometimes I either over-eat it or some of it goes bad so I try to get just what I can use until the next time.

we love watermelon, my son would rather have it as a treat than he would anything like candy or cookies.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that, and that's interesting. I've never heart about using the rind to make pickle!

I love watermelon, but you know when I was growing up my mama used to say watermelons were best after Labor Day.

I love watermelon too.   Watermelon is one of the most wonderful summer treats.  Watermelon is so good! I can't wait to have my first watermelon of the season!

I love watermelon and this post has made me really want to go out and get some. I like to make homemade watermelon water it is such a yummy treat! Also I sometimes freeze parts of the watermelon and eat them that way. I do it with grapes too. I'm strange LOL
