planning a trip
« on: June 03, 2014, 10:29:16 am »
when you are planning a trip, do you make a list of things you will need and  put these things aside as you think of them?
Or, do you think of everything you need the day you pack and throw it all together?

Have done it both ways actually lol.  I am more of a person who puts things off so I guess more of the wait til the last minute but some things I still put away as I think of them but then am always going crazy at the last minute getting the rest together.

Usually I wait until about 2 days before we leave.  Makes my husband nuts, he has everything packed and ready to go about 1 week before we leave!

I make mental lists, physical lists, but actually wait till the last minute to put stuff together. Planning a trip is stressful, and I hate the packing part.

Planning a trip?  What a nice concept.  Haven't been financially able to plan or go on a trip for years.

Call me crazy, but I make a list of things I need to pack like two weeks in advance of my trip! I don't actually start packing them until like two or three days before we leave, but at least I can check them off my list as I go! I'd rather overpack than underpack too, so even of its something I might not need, I pack it anyway! I'm a little OCD when it comes to packing!

I tend to have a mental list going but I usually do all the packing last minute. I've packed for a two week trip late the night before and finished right before I had to leave that morning. Procrastination works for me

Yes, I definitely make lists before going on a trip. Usually, I find, people forget something anyway, but a list can ensure that you are less likely to forget the important things. I think it is a great way to make sure that your trip starts successfully.

:)If I go anywhere it's spur of the moment.  I just take cash and go.  Granted it's never to far away.  A day trip.  I have a bunch of coupons for discount vacations but just still never manage to go.

It depends on where I'm going, when I'm leaving and how long I'm staying.  If it is a short trip (weekend), I'll usually throw everything together at the last minute.  For longer trips, I start planning things as soon as I know I am going.  I am scheduled to fly to Hawaii on 09/26/14 for eight glorious days and have already started getting things together, especially the things that are specifically for that trip.  I even have a few things packed in my suitcase already!  Can you tell that I am excited???
Have a wonderful day!
