Yeah, I guess it depends where you live. All things being equal there's nothing nicer than a freshly mowed lawn with the aromas to match. However not everybody is prepared to mow their lawn and it is hard work. I am prepared to mow the lawn and fact I quite enjoy it. But for those that don't, I've seen some rather inspiring landscapes which resemble streams and rockeries. They have different colored stone for the "watery" parts and then larger river rocks and pampass grasses to line the river. I've also seen drift wood and lobster pots which look wonderful and rather suggest a place of peace and relaxation. Some people are so imaginative.

i love grass and my husband doesn't he wants to make it all gravel and i want some gravel what would you choose
Both. Grass just makes a lawn look like a yard. There is something neat and clean about a freshly mowed lawn. But gravel cuts down on the lawn mowing. I would put it where I want walkways. Plan it.

Grass all the way, The way it smells on a nice weather breeze and how it makes the yard look much better.

I would love to have grass in my yard, and I am not a fan of gravel.

I would love my hubby to pave the part of the yard that he put my basketball hoop so I can shoot baskets. As far as the rest of the yard it can remain grass except for our vegetable garden, also where we have our rose bushes and flowers I would like them to stay the same.

There would be no choice. I love grass and all the natural things that come with country living. But I guess some people wouldn't consider it worth the work.

n my area lots of people are starting to put in artificial turf.   It cost almost nothing to maintain, you hose off once in a while.  It is always green and there is a huge variety of types, colors, lengths to choose from.  In our area the city will even help pay for it, to help you cut down on water.

I have grass in the front of my house.  But in the back I use mulch.  Ready for a change though.  I would like to put down pavers around a fire pit.
