Yeah it could be done, but it's really unhealthy.  Everyone here has made some good suggestions.  Try to eat slightly smaller meals and try to cut out sugars, salts and things high in fat, especially saturated fats.  Try to exercise daily.  Don't always go out and kill yourself running.  Vary your workout.  I'm not sure of your age, but resistance training of some kind will help keep muscles toned which is often a problem when people get older.  Basically, losing weight amounts to eating fewer calories than you expend in a day.  But you have to do some kind of resistance training, even if it's just light weights, if you want to tone your muscles.

It's all about the exercise, really, because that helps with your metabolism and then you don't have to worry TOO much about dieting and cutting back on fatty foods only helps more. You don't even want to lose weight that fast because you'll never keep it off. Losing weight slowly but steadily is the best way to do that.

It is possible to lose 20lbs. in one week, losing weight is basically just math. As long as your are burnng more than you are putting in, you will lose weight.  To lose 20lbs. in two weeks, you need to burn 5000 calories a day.  It is not safe to eat less than 1200 calories a day, and not really that safe to eat that little unless you are EXTREMELY overweight.  So if you are putting in 1200, you would need to do enough exercise and daily activity to burn 6200 calories a day to burn off a total off 5000 (5000 + 1200 put in is 6200).  Then you would lose 20 lbs. in two weeks.  This is not safe unless you are extremely overweight.

Two weeks ago I switched from sodas to water and cut almost all carbs out of my diet, other than tose extremely high in fiber, and I have lost 14 pounds so far. I also started running a mile a day as well as lifting weights and crunches. It's really not too hard and it's well woth it.

I wouldn't recommend losing 20 pounds in two weeks. Your going to deprive your body.
I would cut out greasy foods and sugary drinks and start exercising. I bought a exercise bike about a month ago and they say that is suppost to be really good for burning calories. Well of course I just plop on it when im watching t.v. and pedal away. But non the less every little bit helps.
I read some where if you drink alot of soda and you cut it out for one month solid you can loose up to 10 pounds, I do not know if this is true or not as I love my coke, but that might be worth a shot.

yep, you'd have to starve yourslef dont try, just eat healthy and exersize 1 hr a day

I agree with post by flotowngolfer.

The fastest way I've lost weight is by cutting out all carbs and increasing my protein intake.

I've tried it all and getting rid of the carbs does the trick for me but it takes a lot of will power.

Exercise. duh? I run 5 miles 2 times a week. Not that bad to keep in shape and lose a few pounds.
