Do you use paper plates at home?
« on: May 30, 2014, 11:24:13 pm »
I serve my husband in ceramic plates, but my son and I eat in paper plates. LOL !

It's just easy to trash the plate and not having to wash it. Shame on me !  :-\

I never use paper plates at home.  I would rather wash dishes than waste my money buying paper plates.

Yes, I will use them for simple things, but usually not to eat dinner unless we are BBQ'ing or whatnot.

Typically I'll use non-paper plates as they can be washed easy enough.  I do use paper plates when I do large amounts of cookie baking - particularly when the cookies need to be frosted.  During the holidays I bake an obscene amount of cookies and I just don't have enough regular plates to hold all of the frosted cookies.  That's when I break out the cheap paper ones...

If there are more than 6 guests and everyone is being fed, then it's definitely paper plates. on a regular day, i don't mind washing my plates.

Depends on what I am serving and what kind of day I have had.  There are some days when washing those plates would put me over the edge.  There are times I even use the throw away plastic ware.  Some of the fast food/take out places even put plates and plastic ware in for you to use.    I know it sounds lazy, but I also am working 7 different part time jobs (trying to make up for 2 full time jobs!) and there are days when I also really have a time crunch.

Lately, I've been using the dishes I have at home. However, I do like the convenience of not having to wash dishes and just throw the paper plate away. I think I need to shop for paper plates.

exactly why I use a mix of both. I especially like to use paper plates since i dont have a dishwasher.

I agree it might not be good for the environment but it does save a lot of time to not have to wash the extra dishes especially if your like me and don't own a dish washer.

All the time! My mom gets mad when we use the glass plates, but then what's the point of even having them?!

I use a paper plate occasionally if we eat pizza or some other light snack. We always use ceramic plates while eating regular meals.

I forgot to say, I get paper products after  every holiday, so I use Christmas, birthday Halloween, valentines plates,  any and every holidiay and color of plates.   They sometimes have such big overstocks they are almost giving them away.

I like using paper plates sometimes and buy them when they're on sale. For half a penny a plate it's easier for me to just throw them away with the rest of the paper.
