What do you usually do on holidays?

How do you celebrate on holidays? Does it depend on the weather on what you do? Does it depend on what holiday is being celebrated? Do you decorate, invite family over, barbeque,etc.? What others things might apply to celebrating a holiday?

Depends on the holiday, but we always cook out on Memorial and Fourth of July and Labor Day.

We usually just hang out with my dad and grill out or do something easy.  It's how I prefer it!

Absolutely nothing if I'm with my in-laws because my mother in law is a Jehovah's witness which means no birthday cakes no memorial day BBQ and no Thanksgiving turkey.

I mostly spend Holidays with some members of my family and extended family.  I miss a good friend who lives in another state, she and i spent a lot of holidays and special occasions together with our families.

For me generally I do not do much for most holidays, especially as I have gotten older. I now mainly just celebrate the major ones: Christmas, Thanksgiving, Independence Day & Halloween - which is my personal favorite. I usually end up visiting with family, most of the times doing a nice dinner together. I like to decorate for Halloween that has always been really fun to me. Christmas can be fun but it can also be so overwhelming that sometimes I will end up just putting up a tree and nothing more.

We use to hang around on holiday.  But most of the time we went to places that far away from our house to relax for few days.

Depending on the holiday and what the weather is like determines what we do. Typically it's hanging out with the family, going to dinner, or out to the park. I put up minimal decorations since we have a young child in the house.

The one thing consistent to all my holiday celebrations is that my sons and I have a good meal and something special for dessert.  We are big on family and since my hubby (their dad) died last year we try to enjoy every moment we have together and to always try to do something special even if its just eat good food.

I usually try to make it home to see my family if i have enough time off work. I think the best way to spend holidays is with your family

When the holiday occurs in the Spring and Summer months, I buy ribs to barbecue.  I prefer beef ribs over pork ribs (Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day).  For Thanksgiving and Christmas Days, I do some cooking and eat a great meal.
