Gardening questions

I had someone tell me that I needed to plant my corn during open arms times.  What does this mean.  I am sure it has to do with moon cycles but I couldn't find any references to it.  Doesn't really matter because garden gets planted when my arms are open....the weather and a day off coincide.  But I was curious.  Does anyone know?
