Hateful %^&* idiots conducting surveys
« on: May 22, 2014, 08:43:41 am »
Just blowing off some steam.  Wondering if anybody else has seen this.  I just clicked on a link to do a survey and it asked "Do you have a Twitter account".  I answered YES.  It asked another question on the next page but above the question had a statement that said "There is no point in lying on these questions.  We will be verifying your information and if you are untruthful you will not be paid".    I just thought that was a little over the top on being a smart@ss.    I was not lying and take the statement personal.   I also think it is wrong for companies or groups who do these studies to call a person a liar.  Has anybody else seen this disclaimer?

I have no problem with it..They don't want people to lie and are letting them know that if they do it will be easy to find out and they won't be credited. I think it's a good idea.

I also questioned about these surveys to when ever i get disqualified for one & ex-specially those at the beginning its like one pick then by by survey. But i do think its a good idea to be honest about the survey while doing the survey then again i think they should take out the race and income (all types) because thats not what the survey is about. Surveys should only be about the type of product its representing well thats just my thoughts on them. :cat:

I've seen it a couple of times.  That second question you couldn't think of was something similar to:  "Have YOU posted over 200 tweets."  Simple answers are either you did or you didn't.  I guess some people might lie about it and since all the surveys are looking for truthful answers, if someone lies, they won't get the credit for it.  I don't see the problem in that.

They want real answers for their research, so it makes sense.

Yes, I agree it could have been worded a lot better.  ::)

I get that they want truthful answers.  Ianswered both truthfully.  Yes I have Twitter.  No I have not posted over 200 tweets.  I just thought it was a rude way of stating it.

That was rather discourteous.  I would have felt exactly the same way you did.  I have commented in or after surveys when I can about that being one of the main reasons I love doing surveys (and I am a member of about 40 paying survey sites).  I love that I can honestly say that I don't like a product idea, tv idea, or whatever it is and that is the point of the survey.  They don't want to pay for "yes men" who say what they think they want to hear.

I love doing surveys.  I have three checks sitting here on my desk right now that I need to get into the bank quickly tomorrow morning before the weekend hits.

I am sorry for you negative experience, but good luck to you in your future efforts.

The disclaimer was above the first question in the survey. No one was accusing you of being a liar. No reason to take it personally.

i have seen it and the completed the survey not the only survey that i have ever seen that says it so i wasent offended by it since there are a lot of people who fabricate lives just so they can qualify for surveys.

I wouldn't take that personally. Sure, it wasn't the most polite way of putting it, but they got their point across, and I think they were just trying to be different.

I wouldn't get upset about it.  They warn everyone to be truethful.  I on the other hand would be mad at them checking my twitter account.

Maybe you should of taken a screen shot of this and then reported it to FC. I am sure they would have looked into that. Sounds like you ran across something that they should know about.
