Do you ever get heart flutters?
« on: May 16, 2014, 08:42:28 pm »
I get what's called PVCs where my heart beats early and it feels like flutters/palpitations.  I've had several tests done and wore a heart monitor for awhile and the Dr says it's perfectly normal and if it really starts bothering me I can always take medication.  Anyone else ever experience this?  I'd never heard of it before.  Even though I know the Dr says it's fine, it still scares me a little bit!

Well, I've never been diagnosed with any heart issues, and I'm not sure if it's just stress related, but once in a while I'll just be sitting minding my own business and I feel my heart just speed up and beat real hard. It's a scary feeling. I should probably mention it to my Dr. the next time I have an appointment, but then again I'm worried that it's just anxiety (which I do have) or stress-related, and I don't want to look like an idiot telling the Dr. about this if it's all in my head. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Yes and I am on a medication called a beta blocker for it.  I have had these randomly for several years but it got bad back a few months ago.  Supposedly they aren't overly dangerous but not good for you if they are doing it quite a bit.  My heart slows way down and then it speeds way up.  Even with the medication it still happens some but not as much.  It is very unnerving I know.  I hope it improves for you.
