time to get up in the morning

Do you set the alarm even though you are retired?
If you are  still working, is there a day when you allow yourself to "sleep in"?

I haven't worked since 2010 (not my idea) but I'm still following the same routine that I did when I worked. Even though I'd love to sleep in, I find myself waking up at 3 a.m.  My latest rare sleep-in was a couple months ago when I slept in until 8:30 a.m. but I didn't fall asleep the night before until 2 a.m.

I am a stay at home Mom with 2 kids and 2 dogs.  My dogs are generally my alarm clock and they go off at 630.  Sometimes I'll put them outside, like hitting snooze, and go back to sleep until 7 when one of my children inevitably gets up.

The only day of the week that the alarm isn't set for 4:30 am is Sunday. Most sundays I am up by 6:00 I am a morning person. :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

I get to sleep in on Sundays...I sleep until five in the morning. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays I get up at four thirty in the morning to workout on my stationary bicycle. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays I get up at four twenty in the morning to work out with weights. Getting up this early not only allws me to get my workouts done but it also allows time for making lunchs, getting an hour of work done on my second job, doing my fusion cash duties, and get the kids up so that there is no last minute rushing around. Then I am off to my daytime job for nine and a quarter hours followed by four to seven hours working at home with my second job.

I have not used an alarm clock for years! I usually get up early no matter what time I go to bed. Its like 4 am early every day or weekend.

We are both retired but my husband works part time. We never set the alarm because we always wake up around 5 am. After years of the same pattern I guess your body just gets programed. I did use an alarm when I worked just as backup to make sure I was never late even though I always woke up before it.

Not retired and use an alarm clock to get up, but in the summer, I tend to get up with the sun so I often wake up before the alarm goes off.  On the weekends I may sleep in an extra hour, but not much beyond that.  The only exception might be if I did a lot of physical work the day before, I might take an extra 2 hours to sleep in to recover energy, but that's typically rare.

I expect when I do retire someday in the distant future, I'll still be getting up on a regular basis as I'd probably be creating my own form of "business hours" to keep exploring things and being productive.

On days I do not work I do not set an alarm.  But I do not lay in the bed all day.  I still get up between 5 and 7. I get so sick of people who are laying in the bed at 11am and get upset if you call them.  Grrr.  I have no tolerance for laziness.

Well if I have to go somewhere early I set my alarm but usually wake up before it goes off. I sleep exactly 6 hours so if I go to bed at 1am I am up at 7am. It has been like that since I have stopped working years ago. I sometimes try to go back to sleep but usually can't so I just stay up and start my routine.
