Substitute for canned tomatoes

My aunt is allergic to tomatoes ... it's difficult to make some dishes because so many have tomato paste, sauce, whole or otherwise tomatoes.

Any suggestions? TIA

That is a new one.  But, my dad did not like red sauce at all.  My mother is cajun and she would make brown gravies light to dark and white gravies when you wanted to make things with pasta.   Also I heard about a new sauce made from ,beets, carrots, other vegetables etc to use instead of tomato sauce.  Not sure of the name something like no tomato or something similar.   Good luck.
