People are very inconsiderate these days. I cannot stand a barking dog. I do whatever I can to keep my dog quiet!

I am fortunate to live in a quiet neighborhood but I have been in circumstances that make me concerned about damage to my hearing.  People who frequent loud environments do not realize how debilitating hearing loss is to a person's quality of life.  I have observed how hearing impairment isolates people and really changes their lives.  So far, hearing aid technology has not been able to re-create the complexity and quality of natural hearing.  Value your ears--you really cannot replace them.

I agree with you. I live in a house in a suburb and one of my biggest complaints is the lawn servicemen that use those noisy blowers for way too long, often just blowing dirt around!
