The doctors have seen it all, so I always try to keep that in mind :)

I'm not been ashamed per se as I have a level of trust with my doctor.  However, I do procrastinate, sometimes slight my concern as something minor and/or maybe I'm just tired with paying all the copays.

Yes when I was much younger - now I am 60 and I look at things much differently.  I don't believe anyone has the right to judge someone else - a doctor gets paid for helping you so I would hope you would walk in there with your head high and get the help you need.  Life is too short to worry about the opinions of others.

Has anyone ever had something that wrong with them and they were ashamed to show it or tell it to their doctor? I have a problem that I know needs to be looked into but I really don't want to show it to anyone.
It is not an issue with any behaviour or STD thing. It is just that I am embarrassed about how much weight I have gained and the place that needs to be looked at would show how overweight I really am.

Don't be ashamed.  There's nothing you can show your Doctor that he or she hasn't already seen.  In the process, you could be saving your own life.

that's what the doctor is there for, and they are sworn to keep your medical visits confidential........go get it checked out asap.....it may be that you not the first one to experience this type of problem, and sometimes we feel isolated and like we the only one....I bet you not the only one....

It's understandable, but doctors have probably heard worse. It's their job. There's really no shame in asking whatever's wrong with you. Better safe than sorry.

No.... If I believe it something to be bad, might as well ask the doctor about it so it doesn't get out of hand

Well if it is something that can get worse or not heal on its own you need to go to the doctor.  I was afraid to talk to my doctor about my depression because I was afraid he would put me in the hospital but he didn't he changed my medications and had me see a counselor.  So I saw the counselor for several months and she really wasn't helping me and I couldn't afford to keep going with gas prices and I personally don't have an income but I do still take the medicine and sometimes I am better and sometime I'm not just go see your doctor it will be ok.

Google it! Enter your health problem (no matter how bad or embarrassing is) using Google.

Then decide "what to tell your Doctor".

I use to be like that until I had a baby.  After that, nothing was sacred or private.
Have a wonderful day!
