Qualifying for surveys...
« on: April 08, 2014, 07:42:58 am »
... and while qualifying, they ask for your name and address???   Why do they need that?  I back out.  Sorry.  I don't know where the info is going, so I back out of the survey.

It's to ensure that they're actually getting information from a variety of individuals instead of the same person using multiple email addresses. Where you live also has an effect on your opinions of different products and services

A few surveys do ask for your full name and address but most do not. As another member said, it is supposedly so that the survey company will record who took the survey and know that you have not taken the survey previously. I have no problem giving my name and address. I have done it without problem.

I don't mind providing mine, but I wish they would actually explain why they need this info.

I'm Ok with them having this information. It makes sense that they need to keep track on people registering on there websites, especially if they are paying them.

Most of the time I provide this information as well.  50% of the time it's for a product test.  Sometimes it may not be right away but down the line if what answers you gave them are what they are looking for.

I have no problem giving out my name and address as that is in the public records and easily found anyways...the most that will happen is that you'll get junk mail

I have a problem with surveys when the survey may be about your pet and they want to know your financial information. It may be a survey about technology or travel or health, but they may want to know about your iinvestable assets.

I never have a problem giving this information because in all actuality if someone wanted to find out where you lived all they would have to do is google you.  Your information is already out there so i dont see a point of not giving it to earn some extra money.  There is a line that i draw i do not give out my account numbers or my social security number that would be just foolish, and i have never seen a survey that required these two items a lot of the time i also refrain from giving my phone number but typically it is not a requirement unless there are samples that they wish for you test out.
