Have you ever been fired?

I lost my job twice, once in the good old days back in the 1980's when you can
Get a new job in a few weeks and in 2009, where the situation was worst for finding a new job and which I am still feeling the effects if now.

Unfortunately, yes. A few times. I never felt it was my fault, though. I suppose that's normal.

Graduated HS in 1969....i call it the Woodstock era...peace love blah blah blah....no one wanted to work in those days///just party,smoke weed etc....i wanted to fail an interview once and still got the job....but i lost many in those days cos as i just said......work.......nah!!!Not then.

Its hard to believe looking back 40 + years what we were like then...but i will say this much...we had better heart conditions and were NOT as mean as the youth is today!!

I never got fired before but I remember I was gonna get fired from my first job. They replaced my name on the upcoming time sheet that I never got. My co-worker told me about it.

I honestly don't think I did anything wrong. I worked at a bakery. Did everything properly and cleaned the kiosk. And then while I was off, the manage was working (I was working the next day and she was off). Anyway, The manage taught my coworker the new standard for sending our net income for the night. Instead of faxing the whole receipt to the main office, there's a new way. So the next day, I faxed the receipt not knowing that we don't do that anymore and we're suppose to send it differently. Then the following day, I find out that I've been replaced.

I quit right after I found it. When I told them the check was already ready for me. I was so pissed off cause I wasn't told anything and if they were supposed to get pissed at me about that, they should have. I just left and said bye. It was obvious I didn't deserve the job. A couple months later, one of coworkers. The manager was telling me that she missed me cause the coworker was slacking when it comes to cleaning the kiosk before the end of the day and it would take her an hour to more than an hour to clean things up where as I can clean up the place nice and clean and sanitized in less than an hour. Hmmmmm..

Anyway, before I quit, I stacked our goods in crates too high for them to reach. I'm 5.3 and I stacked them where it was about 6 feet tall. LOL! How I did it, I put two stacks together. LOL! They called me the next day and said they had a hard time putting the crates down. LOL!!!

yes once when i was like 18 i was working for dunkin donuts and this guy grabbed me over the counter so i hit him with the coffee pot i explained it to my boss but still got fired but i had the guy arrested

It only happened once, in my case.  It was in the 1980's.  I recall that, where I formerly worked, a woman was fired after being employed for 32 years.  She was my supervisor and took an unauthorized vacation.  Ouch!!

I was fired 3 times and each time I was glad. I hated those jobs.

Yes, I was laid off my last job due to politics in organiation.  Really frustrating.  But I never been fired quote for work issues.

No, but one place I worked "let me go without telling me" I had to figure it out on my own... very confusing... I like to work but now cannot... bummer...

I was fired during the first ninety days of a job. I think I could've have done better, but the job was beyond my skill and my boss was hospitalized after I started there. And she came back and fired me shortly after. I think she had someone else in mind for the job. Oh well.

Well I have been pushed to the limit which made me quit at one job it was an office job, I didn't like one job because one person wouldn't let me do my job he kept bugging me. So I walked out telling my supervisor I quit, that was in a warehouse. I had a manager tell me that I couldn't be a manager of a department because I was a woman so I gave him two weeks notice and quit that was shipping receiving department. Fired no but I only mentioned a few. I used to do my job but some people don't want you to do it so you will get fired I wouldn't give them the satisfaction. My last job I really enjoyed and spent four years there if I hadn't gotten sick I would still be there I was a person who managed a department in a store. I also was offered to be an assistant manager but wanted just do what I was doing.
