My sister is a dietician and she's said that fish oils are the best. Fish oils have EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty acids which are the key ones to look for. Vegetable oils like flax seed oil contain ALA which the body can transform in small amounts to EPA and DHA, but because the body has to transform the ALA to the more active forms, it isn't as readily available as those found in the fish oils. However the fish oils tend to have a fishy taste / odor, so people tend to not want to take fish oil supplements. Ground flax seed can also be more easily added to actual dishes as well without providing an unpleasant taste. For example, my mom likes to put ground flax seeds on the top of her salad to give it a little different texture, get the omega 3's nutrition, yet all without detracting from the taste of the salad. @Blondie: you can purchase flax seed in either form: either as a suppliment (in which case it'll probably be flax seed oil capsules) or as a food (usually you can find it in bulk at a food co-op or in a box along with other dry goods near the baking aisle of a grocery store). It reminds me of wheat germ when found as a food (esp. the ground seeds), and can probably be incorporated as an alternative to that in recipes.
Thank You I do take the fish oil and I have not fish taste or anything like that people can't tell I am taking them I get them at Wal-Mart the brand I get is Nature Made I think its the best and they have different amount or milligrams one I am taking right now is 300 omega 3 and the other I have not started yet is 360 of omega 3.

I have never tried any. Although my boys when they get in trouble my wife would always tell them to go get their mega reds. I am not sure if it is in the same vicinity as fish oil or flax seed. Need to know more about them. Thanks.

I've heard they're both great for you. Just make sure you get the mercury filtered out of the fish oil for your own safety.
