Allow me to once again be enveloped
in the cocoon I chose to emerge from.
Remind me again why I chose to relinquish the warmth
 and comfort for this cold, harsh land.
Chastise me if you must,
Tell me once more that you know best,
but then open the doors and take me in again.
After all, you are right,
it is too much and too cold and too hard
and I, I am just not quite enough.

Its pretty good.  I was thinking maybe it was about someone who left home. Are you going to tell us?

It's about some personal issues I was, and still sort of am, going through. I was hoping I could get a bit more criticism, thinks that need to be fixed or something.

I don't believe anything should be fixed. I'm an avid writer and love reading things like this. Without 'fixing' anything, what you wrote is a clear and real emotion. When I read it, I felt what you felt, and that's the greatest part about writing. Any editing will diminish the initial passion you had when first writing it.

If it comes from the heart, which I can tell it does. That is what matters. Writing is good.

I write a lot to express my emotions too. I have a whole journal of stuff that will never be published but is important to me. Sometimes I look back at it to remind myself of where I was, and where I am, and where I want to be.
