A man who wants his wife to look like Beyonce? What would you do?

I looked at Dr. Phil this morning and was appalled to see this man who thought he was a 13 and he said he needed a trophy wife.  He rated his wife as a 5.  This man said he wanted his wife to look like Beyonce Knowles and threatened to leave her in two months if she didn't get on board.  I thought he was over the top at least because his wife said her self-esteem was suffering as a result of how he treated her.  If your man berated you and your self-esteem was suffering because he constantly complained about your looks, what would you do?

How shallow is that. If his wife looked like Beyoncé, she'd receive tons of attention from other men. He'd get all jealous and possessive and she'd dump him for a real man, which she should do whether she looks like Beyoncé on not.  He's a dingbat.

I only caught some of that episode because I kept dozing off, but I got the gist of it and it was gross. First off, why even marry her if you're not satisfied with how she looks? Clearly that's the most important thing to him, so maybe he should have "shopped around" for someone that was closer to his (practically unachievable) standards. The woman shouldn't waste her time on someone so shallow. She can do better. I hate stuff like that.

I would not have married him in the first place because I am sure he mention somthing to that before he married her.  I am sure she would like for him to look like Omar Shmar or whatever his name is or any of the good looking guys out there.

I guess it'd be one thing if she had been very beautiful to begin with and had let herself go (eg no longer bothers to groom herself, wears sweats, etc. -- think People of Walmart), or if he was making the request more out of thinking about her health (eg heart disease runs high in her family and he wants her to lose some weight so as to decrease her own risk), but if its just because his expectation is too high, then I agree that she should just dump him. I also think that even if his intentions were more well-meaning (like what I had mentioned about wanting her to lose weight for health reasons), just the fact that he attached an ultimatum makes him seem like a "donkey-ditch"...

I didn't see that particular episode of Dr Phil but quite honestly, I'm quite surprised he even dared go on the program knowing Dr Phil's standards. What was he hoping to achieve by going on the program? Endless hate mail or the prestigious title "most hated person in America". Unquestionably this lady is better off without him. If her self esteem is so low that she feels obligated to sit around and listen to this waster then she needs to get therapy. He should love her for her insides not her outside. If I were her, I'd think "Buster, you're insides are ugly and I deserve better".

That guy probably  has a problem with control. A man like that likes control and doesn't deserve to be married. If I was here I would run for the hills and get out of there while I can.

I know I wouldn't put up with that.  Before I left, I'd make sure to let him know that he should run and find Beyonce and see how much attention she'd be paying to him.  On a scale of 1-10, I think we can all say that Beyonce's attentions towards a man like this would be 0.

What did he look like? I'm sure it wasn't Densel Washington!!! He needs to grow up and realize there are more important things in life than having a trophy wife. He should have married one in the first place if that is what he wanted. I'm bet Beyonce won't have anything to do with the likes of him!!!

KICK HIM TO THE CRUB!  I am curious as to if she was there too.  I would NEVER go on a talk show with anybody.  And if I had a husband who rated himself as a 13 and me as a 5 and told me I needed to get on board to change my looks to look like some woman he fantasized about he wouldn't even need to finish the sentence to threaten to leave.  I would shove him out the window.

SHE does not need to begin the divorce proceedings.  She needs to let HIM do that.  If he leaves her because she isn't pretty enough for him then she will get the house for sure.  If she leaves him then she might get half she might not.
