replacing computer ink
« on: March 11, 2014, 09:23:23 am »
someone was telling me that he has to change all his ink cartridges even if one [Magenta, for example] runs out.
I do know that there are printers that us 3 cartridges for ink and some us a cartridge for each and every color.

I had a printer like that...  very expensive proposition... cartridge replacement costs soon became more than the cost of the printer itself...I switched to a black ink only printer -a monochrome laser printer -and have been very happy with my choice.

The ink is costly, but I only replace which ever one is going out, but I will never buy ink from simply ink. It would not print and would never show the photo that it was full. What a waste.

That's insane.  I can imagine the amount of money he spends on ink!  I have a Kodak printer/scanner that can print photos, along with documents, etc.  There's two cartridges that are so easy to change, a 3 year old can do it.  The black ink refill costs about $10 and the color refill costs about $20.  I'm really happy with it and the ink isn't so expensive I feel like I have to spend half a paycheck refilling it, LOL.

My old computer had one tank for black and another for the three colors.  Now I have an Epson and I can change colors one at a time.  However they say it won't run if one of the colors is empty.
