Sorry for the loss of your furkid. It will take time to adjust to his absence, and you will never 'replace' him, however, you can find another loving dog to share your good and bad times with and that will help fill the void left by Romeo's trip over the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I had to put my little girl (my ~200lbs. Mastiff) to sleep in November, and it was so very difficult to do. Not sure if it made it worse or helped to deal with it, but shortly afterwards I heard Passenger's latest song "Let Her Go" on the radio, and it struck such a chord with me and my loss. Even now if I hear that song and I'm not in the best mood, I'll remember my sweet Joni and may even get a little choked up.

But for Christmas, my best friend and I went out to a local Paws and Claws rescue and I got another little girl to cherish. I know she'll never replace Joni, esp. considering how much more (hyper)active she is contrasted to Joni, but I also know I'll come to love her just as much.

I wish you and your family all the best. It does get easier as time goes on, but it still hurts to lose such a great family member!

Very sorry for your loss. It'snot easy losing a beloved pet. Especially one you've had for a long time.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I also have a lab(black) and she is very much a part of the family. She turns 7 in May and we've had her since she was 5 weeks old.

he was 10yrs old and a lab.He had been coughing for awhile but was eating and playing.last few weeks he wanted to stand up out side all the time, and his legs were swelling up.We thought a bad heart but was surprised by the cancer seen on an xray.My son is pretty upset had him since he was 12.I miss him  it will take time to get over it.Vet said it was bad and the best thing would be to let him go.It seemed so fast really this morning we were taking him to the vet and now he's not with us anymore.Talking and writing about it helps. His name was romeo a sweet lab mix.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Romeo.  It really hurts when one of your best friends and family member passes away.  We sometimes don't realize just how close we are to our animals until something catastrophic happens to them.  I grieve terribly when one of mine pass away.  I lost my 23 year old parrot, Popper, 3 days before Christmas 2013.  I still miss him so much.  I worry about my pets when they're not feeling well - always dreading the words you don't want to hear from the Vet.  Pets are such a big part of my life.  They're like my kids, and I do the same thing for them that I do my own kids.  I hope both you and your son's hearts heal quickly from the loss.  RIP, Romeo.

Oh no, I am so very sorry.   :(  I understand your feelings.  I go through the same thing with my beloved pets.  It is so hard when they leave us.  Time is a great healer, however.  Your precious lab will always be in you heart and the pain of losing him will fade.  Hopefully you can extend your love to another deserving pet.  Our animal friends need caring people like you and your family to give them a wonderful home.  You have a Fusion Cash support group that knows your pain.

I'm also sorry to hear about your beloved pet.  Some of the most intense grief I've experienced has been when it's necessary for me to have one of my 4 legged friends euthanized.

You're right when you say it helps to write about it and it is important to recognize, that in time, you and your son will heal and you'll have all the positive memories of knowing what it's like to love and be loved.

Gather photos of Romeo because those will help you deal with the grief, as well.
Have a great day!

It is so sad to loose a pet. Pets bring a lot of joy into our lives and it's as hard to loose them as it is a person. I'm so sorry for your loss. It will be hard for a while but try to remember the good times you had with Romeo.
