What are your thoughts about this 10 second rule they were proposing for college football?

Can you elaborate?  There might be others (who don't follow football) that don't know about this rule. But I'm interested.

I do worry about football players and all the talk of concussions.

I'm glad that they decided not to pursue it (at least for this year). I think it is a horrible idea. For those that don't know, this rule would require the offense to wait until 10 seconds had run off of the 40-second clock before they could snap the ball. I already think college games are slow to begin with, so why introduce a rule that would slow it down even more. Also, this takes away one of the strategies for playing the game... Some teams like playing with a "hurry up" offense to keep the opposing defense tired, on their toes, and unable to substitute as freely. I think this rule would give too much advantage to the defense.

  I also think that 10 second rule in collage football would be a bad idea, teams should be able to snap the ball whenever they are ready to

That sounds like a kind of stupid rule to me.  The teams should be ready to go as soon as that whistle blows.

Ha! That's what I thought too  , but in my world, I think it's 8 seconds.

Perhaps it's a different time allotment for different folks.
