Stick with a budget, living on my own I got use to already knowing I didn't have the money, so I got use to not buying things unless I budgeted them in.

Every once in a while I go on a financial diet. I spend absolutely no money for a week, no extras allowed. Of course I fill up on gas and go grocery shopping before hand. It makes me realize how much money I waste on little things throughout the week.

Cut out the takeaway coffees and get yourself a nice flask to put home brewed coffee in. :cat:

Set the furnace thermostat at 68° F or lower, and the air-conditioner thermostat at 78° F or higher. Between 3% and 5% more energy is used for each degree the furnace is set above 68° F and for each degree the air conditioner is set below 78° F. :cat:

I am a stay at home mom, so I'm constantly looking for ways to cut back and save. Especially now that we have another one on the way. I use coupons when we go grocery shopping and we only buy what we need. Luxuries such as junk food are only bought when they are on sale and I have coupons for it. We don't eat out or dine out as often either. Cooking meals at home are a lot cheaper and healthier.

I wish I knew a way! It seems like every paycheck we are stretching every dollar, it becomes frustrating at times! But some examples of things we do to reduce our costs are keeping the windows open instead of using the air, keeping lights off when we sleep or are not home, and just overall trying to make things last longer, like food and other household supplies.

true true it is stretch of every dollar but it can be fun and not so frustrating + here is what i figured out a long time ago 'do abit every day then you will come to a point of your life where everything is perfectly content' & i was about the age of 14 when i thought of it without any help or inspiration at all. :cat:

Wash laundry with cold water. According to Michael Bluejay, A.K.A. Mr. Electricity, washing clothing in cold water instead of hot can save $152 per year. :cat:

Me and my hubby are very disciplined when it comes to money. We save, save, save. I make tips at work (I am a server). When I come home I take my tips and put it in our safe. We only allow our selves so much money in our wallets. The less we have, the less we can spend when out. (We have debit/credit cards for emergencies while out). Also, we rarely eat out. We refill 20 ounce bottles and he takes those with him to work instead of buying from vending machines. I keep all lights off when not in use. Keep little things such as chargers, coffee pots, etc unplugged when not in use. Hang up clothes to dry on clothes line when its hot outside. And of course coupons. We save tons just from things like this.

I only buy what I need, and dont eat out a lot. Also try using some coupons here and there.

I switched my phone carrier now I'm paying 60% less while receiving more. I save to spend rather than jumping at every sale. Amazon Prime, Netflix and crackle is a great solution for cable TV. A while back I switched to Voip.
