Who makes their own sofrito??

I'm not Hispanic BUT I love love love sofrito and making it! Just grind up some green bell peppers, onions and garlic in a food chopper and viola! I use it in a lot of dishes I make. I put some in a meatloaf...OMG YUM!! I also make picadillo and use sofrito which makes the whole dish!

I live in NM and watch Mexico One Day at a Time frequently, but I've never heard of sofrito.  My dictionary says it's Carribean and Latin so it may not be part of Mexican culture, or maybe it has a different name.  Picadillo?  Do you mean Pico de Gallo?  That is Mexican and very good.  It's another name for salsa fresco.  I make it all the time and I'm not the least bit Mexican, but I love Mexican food.
