Your child were to come to you and tell you that they were homosexual or transgendered?

I think we're living in a country and time that individuals are smarter and more passive on such things considering the atrocities committed by people in the past over such petty things. So in all honesty I'd be positively interested on their journey on figuring it out for themselves. Just offer an open ear for them to speak if they want to talk about it- educate yourself! They're your kid! If you can't accept different natural behavior and are going to show negative behavior toward their default self, you're a bad person. You should have never become a parent in the first place if you're going to push your kid away over such trivial matters.

I would love them unconditionally, because no matter what they do or what their sexual orientation is they are still my child.

Nothing.  It doesn't matter to me.

Well, first, take a deep breath...(Good advice when first confronting any difficult situation, right?)

Second, tell yourself you will get through this. And you will. As a matter of fact, you might someday look back and find that you are grateful for the experience of having a gay or lesbian child.

I would probably just say, "No Kidding". What bothered me more was my son's wife left him for another woman and gave him fits over child custody.

I'd still love him, but I'd have a huge problem with it.  :o  :(

I really believe in the sanctity of marriage. It should be between a man and a woman like it says in the bible.

I know most people will disagree with this particular viewpoint, but I'm puttin' myself out there anyway.  :notworthy:

Linder you have my backing.

I am sure many feel as we do too but peer pressure on acceptance of this makes many remain quiet.Politicians look to get the vote too thats why many of them accept it too.

The Creator instituted marriage between a man and a woman.....love brings life.....NOT hurtful desire which is a weakness of our sinful tendencies!!

Matthew 19:5
and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'?

I would embrace them and tell them that i am and will always be there for them.  I mean really what has changed they are still your child and i still want whats best for them.  I also would want them to find love and to be respected not because they have a hard road because of bigots but because they are humans who only want to find the person who completes them.

You would still tell you child that you still love them.    Then educate yourself.

Parents who can't support their kids in that kind of situation don't deserve to be parents. In this world where being different is considered so evil;what person would chose to be gay,bi,lesbian......on purpose?!!I believe that babies born w/this condition may have something go wrong during development.

An example of a true parent who truly loves her child was a republican who was strongly against gay rights turned against her views when she found out son was gay.iInsead she join the support gay writes campaign!

I would educate myself first before I say anything to them, but I will still love them.

Wow.  YOu know I would be shocked as all of us, but this is your child and you have to embrace them no matter what.  I would of course talk about the situation very carefully.
