Don't get me wrong! I know 'we are inheritors of the Kingdom of God, so we use the kingdom for His glory' etc., but ... when I make a statement with a link posted to the Scripture that supports that statement, you respond (mostly out of your foundational Scripture) as if I'm making that statement based entirely on my thinking!

You don't look at me as 'a brother-in-Christ trying to justify old covenants to the new one,' but more-often as 'a heretical, infiltrating unbeliever.'

And  :-[ I go right along with it, acting like I'm still trying to find a way through your cast-iron fence to run your religion through with the blades of moth & rot :angel12:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------That's what a Pharisee might say today. You now have the chance to respond as my mentor Jesus-of-Joseph would, and I pray that you will!

The problem is you seem to have your own brand of "Christianity" that is in stark contrast to that of the Christ of the Bible.Christ is the Son of God and you seem to have downgraded Him to some kind of "Master Jedi" who was only better at using the Force than His peers.

You shouldn't try so hard to reconcile/reorder the Bible to your satisfaction. The Word of God is just that: His Word.

Let me chime in too alongside of JJ here also.

I am not sure who your post was made for Myth...you can use our name too.If i find a topic of yours that i feel could benefit a scriptural answer i do my best to answer it.

I also find your topics puzzling sometimes and than i dont answer it.I also have felt i have given you some sound answers scripturally and gotten some $%#@$## answers.

So i guess i just take it a day at a time with you.Knowing not what to expect but also for the benefit of others reading if your topic again warrants an answer i will.....and of course i wont if i am puzzled.

Gods kingdom or government is the MAIN THEME of the bible. When God pronounced judgement on the serpent in Eden and said,i will put enmity between your seed and woman...you will bruise him in the heel and he will bruise you in the head.God was telling of his plan of the kingdom right there thru his son Jesus.Satan did bruise Jesus in the heel but a heel bruise isnt the knockout blow of getting bruised in the head as Jesus will do to satan and his organization that caused the rebellion in Eden.

Tim 3:15 speaks of all scripture being inspired by God and beneficial for teaching too.IOW the bible answers ALL questions about life etc and gives us instruction how to live the correct way.

Examples of how God acted with the Israelites are written down for us so we understand God is consistant with how be will act when we love and obey him and how we will be punished if we dis-obey.They are written for our benefit.

But the kingdom is the main theme thru-out!!From Genesis everything led to a seed until Jesus arrived as that seed and HIS purpose was to DECLARE Gods kingdom.

'The Bible' says Adam is the Son of God, and that Jesus is then thought to be one of God's great-grandchildren (that's according to Luke, who did His family-tree through Joseph ... however, I understand that maybe one-or-more of the other Gospels recounts His ancestry through Mary; who was DEFINITELY His mother)

Luckily 'The Bible' IS NOT the Word of God. If the Bible WERE the Word of God, it would be literally true. Luckily, it's NOT so true; it's true with 'the right interpretation,' but you'll hold to the interpretation you like even if it's PROVEN WRONG again-&-again.

Let me chime in too alongside of JJ here also.

This post (about my disability & my trouble with reality) might explain ... something ...

... something about my #%&#$^$% answers to your "Scriptural" '#%&#$^$%': it's a lot like Peter on the water, or Doubting Thomas ... Jesus' words were RIGHT THERE, but they weren't THE Word to Peter or Thomas because the human-body's senses are constantly trying to justify His Word to the word of 'the world'---the word we receive through our senses. It's a 'secret' of advertising: you FLOOD the media with any message (e.g. 'gays are people too,' 'homosexuality is genetically encoded at birth,' 'Obama eats the ozone-layer'), and people will believe it (no matter how blatantly false it is ... as at least two of the examples are).

So you're right. But knowing the truth with all of my Spirit won't stop me from sensing that my body should burst into flames:angel12:

Gods kingdom or government is the MAIN THEME of the bible. When God pronounced judgement on the serpent in Eden and said,i will put enmity between your seed and woman...you will bruise him in the heel and he will bruise you in the head.God was telling of his plan of the kingdom right there thru his son Jesus.Satan did bruise Jesus in the heel but a heel bruise isnt the knockout blow of getting bruised in the head as Jesus will do to satan and his organization that caused the rebellion in Eden.

And where in the Bible does it point out that 'hitch0403' is among those for whom the promise is intended? (I know Jesus says, 'Whosoever shall follow my commandments is my brother,' making us "heirs according to the promise." But He also said 'God can raise children-of-Abraham OUT OF THESE STONES,' so Who knows how ELSE one can become a son-of-God?)

Genesis 3:15New International Version (NIV) 15 And I will put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspringa]">[or seed] and hers;
he will crushb]">[or strike] your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

You DO remember that Genesis was by-definition a "myth" (like my life-story is to you, like yours is to me ... not an out-&-out "lie," but a story made up to fit our origin as near as the writer can figure. Maybe research has found that the Creation story was verbal history that Moses finally wrote into Genesis, but--as far as I know--he wrote it).

Eve was 'a type.' She may not have ACTUALLY been the mother of all humanity, but was more-likely one of the MANY human-ish females ... like the wife of Cain, the wife of Seth, etc.
Quote
Matthew 24:14New International Version (NIV) 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
And HOW does that make 'you' a disciple?
Please dont single me out.I am struggling to get on narrow path as much as anyone else. But i will not be ashamed to speak the truth either.
(I hear you say "truth," and I think,
Quote from: Andrew Lloyd Webber's partner, lyricist on JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR
But what is truth? Is truth 'unchanging law?'
We both have 'truths'; Are mine the same as yours?)

And you're right that I shouldn't single you out, but Satan is going to try to. Maybe I'm giving you practice for that :angel12: He/the-world requires that you know who you are, and--when they ask you--the proper response is (something like) 'whatever we make me.'  (They say "you are what you own/owe," but one can see that 'you are what you do, followed/led swiftly by -what you say you do.')

Actually,Luke's genealogy is the one to trace Christ's ancestors through Mary's line.Matthew's would be through Josephs.

Paul explains in Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.

15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

So Adam is not an actual "Son" of God,or like Christ,he would not be capable of sin.

The Bible IS the Word of God.I don't know how or why you continue to read it if it's not in your estimation.

Your "right interpretation" has been torn apart countless times, yet you still hold to it.That bares the hallmarks of a cult.

I don't think you'd believe President Obama's birth-certificate if you learned it hasn't been written yet and when it is written it'll be written by some guy who sees him in a hallucination on his way to crack-down on some Muslims, which is essentially how Paul met Jesus.

Joseph is related through Solomon (representing the Royal Line of David) Mary through Nathan (named for the prophet, making Him both Prophet and King) Women, not being allowed to be officially listed in a genealogy, caused Mary's to be placed under Josephs name. You should actually try doing some worthwhile study on how to read the Bible, since you obviously are having comprehension difficulties.

Again,if you have such disdain for Christ and Christianity, why do you keep reading the Bible?Clearly your Jesus is not to be found there, since the Christ of the Bible:
Claims to be the only begotten Son of the Father (John 3:16)
Claims to be equal to the Father (John 10:30)
Claims to be without sin (John 9:46)
To say nothing of the Virgin Birth that you scoff at.
Either learn to read the Bible for all it's worth or put it aside. You can't pick and choose what you like and cut what you dislike. You are exactly the type of person Peter warned of.Twisting Scripture wholesale to suit your own twisted reasoning.

Apparently I am having comprehension difficulties since 'comprehension' apparently means "reading things that are not there" (i.e. John 3:16, where Jesus is talking about 'the role.' His disciples (& other signs etc.---forgetting for a moment that "no sign will be given") ASSIGN that role to Him later/earlier)
