Remember Shirley Temple?
« on: February 11, 2014, 11:03:24 pm »
I know there are plenty of young people in this forum; however, some of us might remember the child star named Shirley Temple.  She was an adorable little, curly haired girl who made many people smile.

She just passed away at her home in Woodside, California at the age of 85.

Do you have a favorite Shirley Temple movie?  Do you remember her?
Have a great day!

I don't think I have a favorite I like them all. Heidi, Captain January, Little Colonel, Little Rebel, Poor Little Rich Girl and Baby Take a Bow, Dimples. There are a few more but I can't remember their titles. I still watch them especially after my children have grown up, and became Grandparents themselves. I have many recorded ones and I will watch them from time to time. If you haven't watched them show them to your children they might enjoy them.

I'm 45 and I remember her.  I remember when we first got a tv...and it was black and white.  Shirley Temple movies were some of the best movies out there...especially for kids.  She was something else.  SOOOOO young and sooo talented.  It was unbelievable.  To say there has never been anyone like her is an understatement.  Hope you all have a great week.

I recall her as being a cute little girl with the dimples and the blond curly hair.  To me she was a phenomenal actress.  She will be missed.  RIP Shirley Temple!! :( :( :( :rainbow:

I remember watching all her movies on TV. They used to be some of my favorites as a child. Who would have thought " Curly Top"would become an ambassador to other countries? She was quite a woman!! She definitely had a life to be proud of.

RIP Shirley Temple!

Wasn't she the first child star?   Kudos to her for living her life scandal free, at least that I know of.   A good role model for the child actors of today.

I am 71, and I don't remember ever hearing a bad word about her in the media.  I loved her movies.  One of my prized possessions is a Shirley Temple doll that is so much like her.  Goodbye, Curly Top.

We had some of her movies on tape when we lived in Russia in the '90s (I was little then), so we watched them all the time. I do remember the animal crackers in my soup thing!  I heard she basically saved - what company was it? - Paramount or whoever from going out of business; and kept spirits up during the Depression. RIP Shirley Temple! :rose:
