It was already in a sprial downward.  Just because Obama came along does not mean i wipe with gold now.

He can only do as good as good as he can with the materials given

I think it is staying the same, but people are starting to relax about it because its not getting any worse.  I think it will start going up soon.  I personally don't give Obama credit for it one way or another.  I think the economy is turning around because of everyday people like you and me.

it has stayed the same-
one day they give you positive news - new home construction up in this little town in nowhere america
the next day - unemployment is still a problem
uncertainty - the only thing that has stayed the same

It think it has flowed both ways everyday is different in the market. I still see luxery cars driving around. I still have to wait for 45mins when I go out to eat. There is still lines at the movie theatres. But on the other hand unemployment is bad and much more. I think Obama will figure it out eventually. I thank God everyday that I have a job and pray for those that don't.

It definitely has not gotten better, but it seems like it may finally be settling instead of spiraling out of control.  At least I hope it doesnt get any worse.

Things are getting worse.  There are more people unemployed now than the previous administration, and the new administration has been the cause for a lot of the job loss.  They have wasted our money on bailouts that did not work.  The companies still had to file bankruptcy.  The new administration is a joke. :BangHead:

The housing boom and subsequent crash happened under Obamas watch? The banks were allowed to hand out home loans when they knew the homeowner would have no way of paying the mortgage when their payment eventually tripled? Think again. You are obviously horribly biased against Obama to make a comment like that making any argument with you about it pointless.  :BangHead: is right.

And it has been both political parties as well as the corporations/banks and the public themselves that brought this on. The same people that are now complaining that the economy is so bad and banks screwed them are the same ones that blindly cashed checks when times were good and took out home loans on $500K houses when they make $30K a year with no regard to how they would pay it back in the future.

Worse. I'm not an Obama basher, but I do believe he hasn't really done anything beneficial to aid our diminishing economy.

The funny thing to me is no one ever blamed the economy crisis on rising gas prices.  The gas prices increased each month to the equivilant of a house payment.  The money that people were using to pay their house payments suddenly went to more gas then which went to more on the grocery bill and so on and so forth, but of course our lovely media never brought that little fact up.

Dubya and his pals ran our economy into the ground. They hoped to use smoke and mirrors to maintain the illusion of prosperity until the end of his term, but it didn't quite work out. Things started falling apart while he was still in office, making it impossible for any rational person to blame the mess on Obama. Our situation is awful, but just think of the breadlines and riots we'd have if McCain had won that election.
