I always try to plant some thing each year, usually tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and some mint. I would like to plant more to be honest but I do not have a green thumb. I may try to do some corn this year, but I live and in GA and it gets to hot here. It is a challenge to keep stuff from drying up.

No, we live in a condo so do not have the space, but I have always wanted to have a garden; it would definitely be healthy to grown your own vegetables.

I grew some herbs last year.  Dill which I have no issues finding stuff to do with it.  I also grew several kinds of mint.  I harvested it and it is dried in my basement.  I am not really sure what to do with it.  I read conflicting info on the internet.  Some sites say you can eat it.  Some say you can not.  I just don't know.

What do you do with yours?

I planted my first garden last year and it did pretty well.  We were fortunate enough to have had decent rain most of the summer.  Just had to irrigate toward the end of summer.  I'm starting to plan what I'm going to do this year.  I'm hoping to increase yields of some of the veggies I planted last year, and try planting some new veggies.  Plan to move where my strawberry plants grow and add a couple more.  Hoping to get some bare roots to start some blueberry bushes.  Then wait to see how this year's garden comes in and plan for the year after that.

My recommendation, start small.  Pick a handful of veggies that are pretty easy - cucumbers, carrots, beans, etc.  See what comes up, and read forums on the internet on how to thin out the different plants and when, then wait for the harvest.  If you make a mistake and don't get a harvest, at least you've learned what not to do and try to correct it the next year.

I have a goal to someday be able to grow enough veggies that I can can to keep me through the winter/spring, until I get new stuff from an early planting.  May take a few years to learn the growing and preserving techniques needed for such a goal, but I'm up for the challenge!

I always had a small garden, and I hope sometime down the line I'm able to have a big one.
