I just read a review about IBotta from a site dedicated to helping you find legit work from home opportunities (I'm almost positive Eddy Solomon is an FC member, so I don't think I can post the link to his site). He seemed pretty impressed with it, giving the App 4 out of 5 stars. In the review he mentioned how it works... From what I understand, the app will list certain products and / or stores, restaurants, etc. where if you make a purchase and take a picture of the receipt with the app, you will get some money put into your account. The amount you make varies, but it sounds like you can increase the amount you earn by doing some marketing work on the product (eg like the company / product on FB, make a Tweet about your purchase, etc.). And the payout threshold sounds pretty good; if I remember correctly, you can cash out at $5. And on top of all of that, I guess you can also earn money through referrals as well. I'm very tempted to get it, but right now my phone's camera doesn't want to work (it keeps saying there isn't any room, even though I have emptied my phone of other pics, music, etc.), so I'll probably hold off until I get a new phone (which hopefully will be in the next month).
I had used a similar app, SavingStar, for awhile but I kept forgetting to check it out when I was making my purchases. However I did make some pretty good money using that app (I remember I once got some Advil Gel Caps for close to 75% off by using this app, in-store coupons, and manufacturing coupons -- my first extreme couponing experience!) This app uses loyalty cards instead of pictures of receipts to verify the purchases, however, so it may not work for everyone, and it takes a little longer for the money to be credited to your account.
