Disabled, but Not 'On Disability'
« on: January 29, 2014, 12:35:31 pm »
The reason-why is quite simple: I was forced to be disabled BEFORE I COULD PAY-INTO "disability" (see #2 on SSDI-claims).

My parents won me some sorta 'settlement' (which I was duped into signing by the hopes that an upcoming case would earn me my millions). My parents then 'grew suspicious of'- & fired the lawyer, & ... have pretty-much flushed my hopes down the drain---plunging-in their divorce & my fathers failed law-career on top of them (so that they're TOTALLY forgotten  :'( )

The settlement is "enough" (luckily I've gotten USED TO 'tiny living-space' & 'less-than-efficient Internet-hardware' and 'LIMITED cable-television' & 'LIMITED traveling-capability' & 'LIMITED housekeeping' & ... all the other LIMITS a feeble money-stream supplies),

but I'm not sure if any cost-of-living adjustments are written into the agreement  :( (If there WERE, I could've stayed in the apartments I was inhabiting BEFORE >:( )

What is it that makes me more-worthless now than I would've been if I had defeated death AFTER paying into Social Security?

Just goes to show those that really need it cannot get it and those that flat out liers and lazy moochers can get it. Prayers will go out to you and i hope something can be done.

i hope something can be done.

Something CAN be done! What it is---live well-enough on good-enough, and encourage everyone to do the same (like Joyce Meyers (& Ghandi etc.) says, "Be the change you long to see in the world!") I'm usually okay; but when I see minimum-wage workers organizing rallies to protest for $10-$15 dollars-an-hour, makes me want to go down & stage a counter-protest (of minimum-wage workers who are SATISFIED with whatever they make) with the rally-cry of something like 'WE RE-CEIVE E-NOUGH! WE RE-CEIVE E-NOUGH!' (Of course, we could open up a whole `nother debate with that!)

The reason behind it (even if what you get ISN'T enough right now) are 1) Keynesian economics & 2) the way the market SHOULD work. Keynesian economics basically state that--as you raise wages--you must raise prices (assuming you don't FIRE employees to make up the difference).

The way the market SHOULD work: if people have not the MONEY to 'demand' the 'supply,' the price is lowered to a level people CAN meet.
